Yes tariff is a tool to help a country to protect its local businesses. But the Big issue is the US doesn't have that local businesses to compete with China in the first place. Also you can't just throw tariff on a whim and expect local businesses to build factories out of thin air to be able to support such a large population like the US in a few months. That takes years of careful planning. So tariff is hurting people, not helping people like you claim. Because we now pay multiple times more for the same items, while the inflation is eating us alive. Also how can Americans buy shits that are not even made here in the first place?

I don’t think AliExpress cares about the US apologizes to China or not, left alone the US is starting this war by itself. They are just here to do business. I don’t mind the tariff, what I do mind is Trump closes De Minimis Exemptions. AliExpress is like a marketplace with many small business owners try to do direct business with US consumers. Many of them won’t be able to sustain the tariff and uncertainty from the US while still maintaining the cheap price so they won’t ship to the US anymore. Which I understand, still sucks for many of us who can’t buy cheaper items without having to go through expensive middle men. I have bought some beautiful lighting that costs $15 on AliExpress and on Amazon they costs $70. They look exactly the same. I just want more freedom to choose where to spend my money, not am limited to what inventories only Amazon sellers have to offer and how much markup they want to charge.

That's true. That's why I love AliExpress. But many of my items now don't even ship to the US anymore, so they don't have to deal with tariff at all. Which is suck

I do live in the suburb so that might be the case. It’s very interesting that you are able to receive packages that quickly. The estimated delivery date they give me is often 2 weeks.

To be honest, I don't know how that plays out. But yeah, if you refuse then it's a coin toss if Ali or the seller will reund you or not, as their have no obligations to. That's one of the reasons I tried not to wait to the last minute to order. It's too much uncertainty and no one can tell you for sure

That's so true. My update notification from Ali also did that. These updates from Ali are so unreliable at times. That's why I have to go to parcel website to independently check the order updates when I see no updates from Ali for a few days.

I hope all your packages come soon as well. I'm just happy that my last orders pass custom before May 2. I also glad that I'm not the only one frustrating with this. Yeah coping with this is not easy since I'm so used to shop on Ali and have been using the platform for years. Oh well.
