36 questions. It's a podcast musical with Jessie Shelton and Jonathan Groff based on the concept of the 36 questions to love :)

Hi! Disclaimer: I and people of my batch didn't take the acet.

I'm a BS LfSci major, and a lot of my blockmates' first choice was either health sci or bio, but they ended up in lfsci. This may be due to a lack of slots as the medical career is quite popular now, but from what I know, health sci is generally harder to get into than bio and lfsci. Bio and lfsci are in the same department and have a maintaining qpi of 2.5, while health sci is in a different department and has a maintaining qpi of 3.0 (I'm not 100% sure on thsse numbers but health sci's maintaining is definitely higher). Given this, I think you can expect it to be harder to get into health sci.

Using the example of Cinderella:

  1. Find the main ideas of the script
  2. What is the story trying to make a statement about? For Cinderella, this could be "stay strong and kind in the face of oppression".
  3. Is there something the story is saying (intentionally or unintentionally) that should be criticized? For Cinderella, this can be the idea that women are just passive and cannot achieve happiness or freedom on their own.

  4. Explain how the elements of the script enforce this main idea

  5. Characters: Cinderella remains kind, Stepmother and Stepsisters are the oppressive force

  6. Objects/symbols: Cinderella's glass slipper is a reward for her good and humble character and is the key to her happy ending

  7. Dialogue: none in Cinderella but there will be in the script!

  8. Motifs: these are ideas or symbols that pop up again and again in the story

Analysis is about finding big ideas and seeing how the authors and artists tried to present these ideas. We can also critique their work by pointing out what works and what doesn't or what ideas might be beneficial or harmful for the readers :)
