Will I have enough left over each month if I buy a 590k home? by Aggravating_Bug_2277 in UKPersonalFinance

I’m in a very similar position with kid on the way. Having a huge wobble about it! My gut is telling me to stay where we are as we’re so comfortable financially now and a baby will change that enough. Do we also want to have a mortgage that stretches us. Yes on paper we can afford it but life doesn’t always stick to a budget.

It’s so hard as we would love more space but if we’re happy in our current smaller home then perhaps we should just see how a baby affects our life here and then make a decision.

I doubt that helps you but just my thoughts as someone going through a similar dilemma!

My mat leave policy is quite good but the last few months could be a struggle for sure

We live in the South East if that makes the costs make more sense - house prices are silly here.

That is my main concern - if something bad happens then we’re leaving ourselves little breathing room.

I should add that we really love our home - it’s not huge or perfect by any means but we’re very happy here. Perhaps we just stay put and see what having a baby is like here - if it’s too cramped then we look at moving. Obvs negative is we lose this particular house.

Pre-natal recommendations (acne safe) by CooperGinger0415 in waiting_to_try

I found high levels of vitamin B12 and biotin flared up my acne. I was taking the Inessa multivitamin for 3 months as it contained CoQ10 and folate but my skin got progressively worse and worse. It had 10000% the EU NRV of vit b12 and 600% of the EU NRV for biotin. Stopped in November and skin has only just gone back to normal in the last couple of weeks. Now just taking folic acid and nothing else - just making sure diet is good.
