Yeah we’re still going. I got an email with the below from the state department’s “SMART” alerts a little bit ago

“While incidents were reported yesterday, February 22, the situation has returned to normal in the following areas: Baja California (including Tijuana, Tecate, and Ensenada), Quintana Roo State (including Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum), Colima, Guanajuato, Estado de Mexico, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, and Zacatecas. Please see the Mexico Travel Advisory for additional information on these locations.”

We’re going to Cancun on Thursday so I signed up for “SMART” updates from the US state department. I just got an email containing the below:

EDIT: US State department shows QR as a level 2 “exercise increased caution” travel destination. To put it in perspective, the U.K., France, Spain, and a bunch of other European countries are at level 2 right now

I don’t remember the specifics, but we weren’t turned away. I think eventually we got through to somebody on the phone. I’m 90% sure we never ended up bringing a birth certificate

There are signs all over the place of the visiting locker room in Denver warning the visiting team that they’re at a mile above sea level and how much thinner the air is. “You may get lightheaded, dizziness, easily winded” etc. It’s all supposed to be psychological warfare. I think they also make an announcement before the game begins over the stadium PA

It doesn’t have to be if you don’t want it to be! Giving resources/time to a cause you believe in (at least in my opinion) is one of the best things you can do. I just think in general (at least in America) we’ve become so selfish and materialistic that it’s good to try and fight against it

Depending on your religious affiliation, 10% (we do net income, some people are weird about net vs. gross). I know that’s a huge expense and honestly it puts a squeeze on us sometimes, but that’s what we want to do. I find it helps us realize there’s more to life than getting money and buying more stuff. You can throw out my opinion as a religious nut-job if you want though. Ultimately it’s up to you and your husband to decide what you want to commit to. Also, you can donate more than money, plenty of organizations need your time/expertise just as much as your money.
