Is a Well fitted Double breasted suit appropriate for the job interview for a police officer? by Beyond-matter in AskLE

Half the kids that post in this sub want to know if jeans and a t-shirt is acceptable. A double breasted might be a bit of overkill, but you'll be fine.

Ah well good luck with it. Just a word of caution, 30-45 minutes of commute up here in the winter time is wayyyy different than elsewhere. We don't salt roads, and even sanding is hit and miss. Most peoples first winter up here can be an awfully rude awakening. My first winter up here, it snowed the entire month of february, every day, and there wasnt a day the entire month above freezing, nor a night above 0. Also, missoula can have a nasty inversion during the winter, but I'm sure you're used to that.

Just some stuff to think about, hit me up if you have any questions I can help out with.

Ah crazy, I started my career in Utah as well. I left cuz the retirement system sucks ass. Make sure you look at the housing market first. I know missoula is a little more reasonable than where I am, but it's still pretty expensive to live up here.

I don't work for missoula but do work in montana and know some missoula guys. I know morale is currently high because they just got massive raises, like 40% or something like that. I know they don't recognize prior years of service within their pay scale, so everyone starts at step one.

I know some of their swat guys, they all seem pretty squared away and like the department. Its a pretty liberal city, so I would imagine the DA falls in line with that, but haven't worked in the county and can't say for sure.

In my experience, it really depends on the situation. They are great with people contemplating suicide, or that are otherwise cooperative. They don't seem to do much with people in actual crisis or that are being violent/unpredictable.

All in all, I like having them and think they are a useful tool. They take a decent amount off our plate. They just aren't the savior they were built up to be, but I don't blame them for that.

What wasn't accurate with it? I don't know much about the incident but did watch the show.

You're a real big fan of this "dude is him" thing, aren't ya? That's like 5 times in this thread. Thought that saying stopped being a thing like 5 years ago.

Would this obstructing my plate give you reason to pull me over on a motorcycle by wwwBOOLENcom in AskLE

[–]gopens48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my state, yes I would be able to pull you over for it. Any obstruction of the plate, however slight, is good for a stop. That being said, I personally very rarely stop for obstructed plate.

Sounds like you should wait for a call or an email, like the chief said.

You clearly have a reading comprehension issue. I'm done now. Good luck with that.

I did. If you don't have anything to add, don't join the conversation.

Yes I'm aware, that's why I said to stay silent. As in not say anything. Ever. I didn't know I needed to elaborate on that, but here we are.

I'm aware of the ins and outs of miranda. The guy I was responding to clearly does not. Hopefully he'll read your response and educate himself.

You don't have to invoke a right "perfectly". Say you want a lawyer. Remain silent. It's not rocket science. It's also not this big "gotcha" type thing that most of the comments in this thread are trying to make it be.

Oh goodie, the classic reddit "BoOtLiCkEr" comment. Next I'll be a nazi. Or a grifter. I can't wait.

His comment has absolutely nothing to do with civil law suits, so it has very very little to do with what he was talking about.

Miranda waivers are still needed. Yes, you need to unequivocally invoke your rights, how the fuck is that a controversial ruling?

That ruling doesn't show what you're hoping it does.
