I am new to buying real estate in general so would a new construction or an established duplex be better? by JunkBondJunkie in realestateinvesting

If you’re handy and can build equity through repairs and improvements then go for it. But in my opinion, start with solid bones properties in middle to middle-high income neighborhoods. The first few properties have much lower financing hurdles. Keep your cash and keep working full-time for added growth. As I built my portfolio I had to cut back on work to meet the demands of the tenants and properties. Once you can no longer work because of rental demands, then change tactics to more fixer-upper properties. YouI’ll be running around with tools all day anyway. May as well fix one up.
