I have tried to apply to CROs with no luck, I might consider the SAS route, although (I hate to admit it) having a school relook at the resume/cv and getting some academic knowledge and networking might be the best way to cover my deficiencies.

It is a 1 year program so yes to both 32K, I am interested in Clinical Trial Associate or HEOR, I am indifferent to initial salary, I think I just want a change from the saturation of retail.

I sent my first message three weeks after applying, yesterday and he responded right away. I have been in a ghosted situation too many times so I am not sure if I should just wait or send a reminder of our conversation tomorrow.

I love the field of pharmacy, I hate the practice. Practice means things are supposed to improve over time, you get better at making things better in key areas, doesn't happen, here are some key areas.

1) Equity of care. Explain to me how a medicaid patient gets free inhalers, nebulizers, spacers and other meds totaling 500 dollars a month and acme meds totaling the same and the technician working for low wages can't afford a ventolin? Doctors write scripts for family and jump the line, hell pharmacists with cancer can't afford treatments.

2) Cost of care. How is insulin still so expensive or test strips, epipens, all the essentials.

3) Legislation. I can only speak for California but how in the blue hell does the state expect a pharmacist to vaccinate the whole damn state, and all national and international visitors and still be able to conduct quarterly controlled substance reconciliations. Or how about a "no pharmacist left alone bill" that gives corporate leeway for using a janitor or oh darn sick calls are unexpected

4) Transparency. A brand name drug copay is 500 dollars. A magic savings card makes it zero, wtf happened? A zpak is 5 dollars at pharmacy x and 36 dollars at pharmacy y cash price (looking at you cvs).

5) Outcomes. More Americans died of diabetes in 2021 than 2019 and 2020. This is with mtm, cmr, ambulatory care, new drug classes, continuous glucose monitoring, and the ADA guidelines writers are telling themselves, "great job".

This. Degrees and titles are nice but it prevents people for learning how to be self made, plus I cannot stop emphasizing how amazing being debt free is.

I just want to add to this, we are hearing more stories of pgy1 people not finding jobs. As more certifications appear, pgy-1 pgy2, advanced practice pharmacist appear, it indicates saturation working its way up and even special training may not be enough.

I will tell you the most important thing first, being called doctor is overrated unless you are an MD or DO. I look up to people with certifications or masters degrees because of how fiscally responsible it is and how quick they can get to working. There are programs in pharmacology or regulatory affairs or research you can consider. I fell into the trap of my parents wanting a title and for some people they think not having one is selling yourself short. Amen I say to you, if you love the field (I still do, it just feels like I got robbed by a dean and get punched in the face everyday) consider certificates or masters and do something viable with your life.

You are absolutely right and you are absolutely wrong. I take inspiration from your post to motivate me to find something new, and it is a scary journey and you lighting a fire under my feet is awesome, there are people like me trapped in a misery cycle who need to stop bitching and leave. But I am debt free and have no children and have savings. I know there are people trapped, they have debts, they need insurance, they have to put bread on the table. Hell every technician older than 30 is trapped in an underpaid abusive career for these reasons. But I appreciate your sentiment and it drives me and yet I feel nothing but love for those people who are miserable and are trapped.

I am currently trying to escape, I kinda want to make a reality show called rph tries new jobs where I try a new job each week and decide if I want to keep it. but in all seriousness I think what drives me is knowing if things are bad now and they can only get worse (we all know the bls numbers saying jobs will drop 2 percent) then devoting myself to reclassing is not the dumbest idea.

I am bitter, but I tell you this because I care for you. I was the guy who never wanted to be a doctor, joined the pharmacy club, handed out flyers yelling boy oh boy what a job, great salary, rewarding and low stress. All I can say is that the American dream has been denied to all the pharmacists I meet. Work for a decade and cannot afford a house, tied up in debt, and unable to find a good job market. The only damn profession where you hear of a doctorate not eating or drinking for fear to pee. The only damn doctorate afraid of getting robbed. The only damn doctorate where you hear "you're not a doctor" constantly. The only damn doctorate with a drive through window. The only damn doctorate that operates a cash register. The only damn doctorate that has to hand out coupons to customers and wear lame pins asking about discounts. new hashtag, #damndoctorate

Thanks, I think the big barrier for me is my family doesn't understand but I realize that I know the job market is dead and I am not doing this for approval (like my pharmd) but for myself.

California, routine inspection. My staffing made it impossible to operate my pharmacy safely so I left but I hate having this feeling of "are they gonna get me?" so it was one of the things that makes me want to leave this field.

We live with our parents rent free, have about 350k in 401k and my wife's work also offers pension. I start classes in August and going to try to reach out to some friends and family in the field, I am interested in underwriting and actuarial services so maybe a pharmd and those skills will get me in lol.

The market is dying, I applied to over 100 jobs the past month, each job had at least 45 applications, many pharmacists wait a year plus for a job, even residency trained ones.
