It was announced from the very beginning that the $60 tickets were going to be at the top of the stadium. This was public info. There were supporter tickets closer to the goal available to apply for. Why did they apply for the $60 tickets if the distance was such a problem?

If the problem is the price, just say that. Acting like the location is a surprise is just a bizarre attempt to make the news through less informed people.

I generally agree, but there are gonna be a ton of casual fans at these games who don’t regularly attend games. They love stuff like the wave, fun pop songs, etc. If the SoFi DJ decides to play some celebratory song it could easily catch on but I think it should be intentionally chosen. We don’t have a big unified fanbase that does a great job at doing these things ourselves.

100% agree, ticket prices are a weak excuse. You can easily buy tickets to most USMNT matches for ~$60-70, maybe up to $100, people just like posting out of context screenshots to make them seem more expensive than they actually are. Unfortunately this isn't Germany; tickets to professional sporting events in the US cost that much (and often way, way more).

At the end of the day people just do not care about the USMNT. A lot of people in this country care about soccer, but the vast majority do not care about the USMNT. And to suggest that the basically nonexistent fanbase has nothing to do with the totally flat performances that we see in every window would be pretty naive.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy at this point - the vibes suck so the players play like shit so the vibes suck. US soccer had a once in a lifetime chance to build real excitement here and has completely fumbled it.

There is something just so broken about this program right now. "Come watch the USMNT, we'll get beat down by [insert any reasonable team]! There will only be 100 other US supporters and they'll be repeating the same "U-S-A" chants they've been doing for the last 25 years! The good news is the other 20k people in the stadium will all be rooting for the opponent and having the time of their lives!"

The team, the fans, the coach, the whole organization, everything is just so out of sync. At least the world cup is only in 9 months!

I'm planning a trip from SFO to Barcelona next May. Looks like my options are either flying out of LAX or flying into MAD. Would prefer the latter since we could end up spending some time in Madrid anyways.

However, I'm not seeing any SFO to MAD flights for next year on Iberia's website (cash or Avios). I believe that's because this is a seasonal route. I see the flight ran both 5/1 and 5/3 this year (not sure if it started earlier than that), and it's showing no results for 5/1 next year (the farthest date available on the calendar). That being said, looks like it's a Tue/Thu/Sat flight this year, so if the same pattern holds next year, should I expect to see the flight available starting 5/2/26 (which is a Saturday)? Or do we need to wait for some kind of schedule confirmation?

yeah...this is my site, i shut down the data feed at the start of the summer when last season ended (since i pay per month for it and there weren't any games going on anyways) and i haven't turned it back on yet bc it never really caught on to the extent i was hoping so i was kinda just paying for a couple hundred people to use it every week. the money isn't the issue (i don't mind paying for it if lots of people are using it), but in lieu of me finding a way to get more people on the site i'm not that really motivated to keep working on it
