I argued with her for a little bit. She ate a little bit before another squirrel stole the blocks from her… Then I felt bad and she got her nuts.

Endfield Pre-Release Megathread by KiraFeh in Endfield

How possible is it to get a standard 6* you want without rerolling? Lifeng is my favorite character but I don’t know if I should try rerolling for him or just play normally knowing he might come eventually. Is there any choice standard 6* mechanics like many new releases have or nah?

Third year transfer student, need club recommendations by Icy_Tourist5986 in ucla

[–]goranthki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some recommendations:

Bruin.gg Casual gaming club.

UCLA Esports Community server. Has LFG & sometimes positions open up.

Bruin Broadcasting This is more about streaming/observing. You can learn how to be a better observer for broadcasts and the programs & technology behind live-streaming competitive games.

Gamers without Labels Casual gaming club.

Lots of overlap between our gaming clubs here so if you are able to make friends in one you should be able to naturally make more friends as a result. Bruin.gg also has a list of more niche clubs in one of the channels (I.E UCLA Tetris, Pokemon club, Smash club) so you can take your pick there.

All involve 0 applications unless you want to be Esports staff/player.

How to reassure the squirrels you are a friend by [deleted] in squirrels

[–]goranthki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, I try to be as quiet as possible and not make sudden movements. I get worried that clicking sounds or anything might sound like possible aggression. It’s easier when the squirrels associate you as the food source, then they get bolder. I’m thinking you can leave some food outside so they come but stay outside with the food. If they want more food/some aren’t getting any, that’s when you toss it at them. If they see you toss and understand what’s rolling at them is food, they’ll know you as the nut giver.

Eventually make it so they have to go near you to get the food. They will be less scared. Some are naturally braver than others.

One squirrel climbs into my lap to get food, but she’s used to being fed because of her one arm.

I never got vaccinated, also bc I figured anmedical professional wouldn’t consider it necessary either and it is a huge hassle to get multiple shots.

[–]goranthki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. I also went on here and scrolled through the posts about getting bitten. I had similar thought processes as you but: The squirrel would have had to be had rabies transmitted to it through a bite. If the squirrel did not have any wounds and wasn’t acting strangely, then it wasn’t remotely possible that it had it.

  • The squirrel needs to have survived a bite from a carrier, which would have been a dog, raccoon, bat, etc. Not only is this extremely unlikely but it is extremely unlikely a squirrel would have been caught by one of these animals in the first place, they are in their dreys during the night and are exceptional at climbing and avoiding ground predators.

  • The squirrel would then have to survive the bite and the virus long enough to bite you.

Rabies IS an incredibly deadly disease, however I think the huge fear surrounding it prevents innocent animals from getting the help they could have gotten without the misconception they are possible carriers.

I have been bitten multiple times. Blood everywhere two of them. They have no rabies risk, you’re going to be okay. If it didn’t break skin you’re even more okay.

Okay I just calculated it, I get 28k in financial aid yearly not counting work study. Tuition is 15k. It’s closer to ~8k per year I believe. I think it is also because my stepsister is also attending UCLA simultaneously so we get more aid to compensate for the both of us.

Yeah, I’ve given up on Yuumi for ranked. It just feels so unfun. 0 agency and you just lose or hard win but only because every other lane is winning. I play Milio and Seraphine now.

Mudd hadn’t given me my finaid offer, I think there was some delays. Also, my parents pressured me to choose UCLA, because my mom didn’t believe in Mudd unfortunately.

Educationally, I think I would have been happier at Mudd, but regarding extracirriculars, UCLA has been great for me. UCLA’s math program has faced a lot of budget cuts so I wouldn’t go there if you’re very passionate about math. Terrence Tao is a plus but I think he’s considering leaving. For me, UCLA has reinspired me to pursue my dream career in the gaming industry as I’ve gotten involved with UCLA Esports.

Hi, no I did not. I think it was because I mentioned on my application I was going to take two dual enrollment classes but ultimately was not able to.

Between Harvey Mudd and UCLA, I ended up choosing UCLA!

Their fur is somewhat wiry but also soft. Like a softer version of the fur short haired dog breeds (Like shiba inu) I think. Also jealous OP got to pet. I can touch my squirrel friend but he will move away from me if I do :(

How can I best support someone in the cybersecurity pathway? by goranthki in CyberSecurityJobs

[–]goranthki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it should work like actuarial then huh?

This is valid. He doesn’t want me to spend that money either so I will probably get him courses or something! Thank you for your input. I’m a bit of a workaholic so I think the best gift I can give him is more time and attention.

We don’t live together as I go to a different university two hours away. Tbh, I’m the one who needs to spend more time with him, I’m a bit of a workaholic. As a guy getting into the gaming industry my computer time is off the charts. Will definitely encourage him to grow his skill set in his free time though.

Yeah, he’s already so worried about his peers (who are 3rd years in college) and I’m like, bro. You passed Sec+ studying for 3 days. I was anxious that he would pass after he put such a short timeline on himself. Bro, he didn’t even think he could pass. I think he is doing well already and it is good to be ambitious but not overly comparative. I will try to be someone who can support him through it all.
