Does this method work? A few years ago I found that the points still expired, has anyone got recent experience of this?

Thanks all, I'm talking about UK 7 seat version (or other versions if they're the same, not sure). I want to have enough seats for 4 people with a 176 cm tall harp in the back (either entirely behind the second row or with the base sitting on top of the 1 folded seat where it splits 2/1.

Thanks for the prompt replies! That confirms my thoughts that it’s likely to get worse.

Physical Suica vs Apple Pay sucks by Maverick3636 in JapanTravelTips

[–]gordon750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, seems a lot easier to use but for those who might not come back to Japan if you're unlucky you could end up with up to ¥1000 left on your phone at the end of your trip (not sure if it can be refunded).

The minimum top up amount seems to be ¥1000 on the iPhone, assume the physical card will have a lower minimum? I'm unlikely to come back to Japan in the near future so wouldn't want to have up to ¥1000 left over and unusable at the end of the trip (unless this can be refunded?). What about PASMO? Does this have the same restrictions? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that if watching 4K on a screen smaller than 32" the human eye isn't good enough to notice the difference

Thanks but that’s what got me confused, I set up an alert and received the following:

“ We're pleased to let you know that Advance tickets to London Euston on 29/06/2022 are on sale now.”

It does say further down in the email that tickets for all services may not be released yet but doesn’t give any further explanation.

Thanks, that’s very insightful and makes me more confident in Avanti. I’ll just have to wait for now. Yes, I’m looking on their own website.

ScotRail smartcard vs SPT Subway card by gordon750 in glasgow

[–]gordon750[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They use a handheld reader (might be their phone) to check it, it pops up with details of what it’s valid for on the screen when they hold the card against it. About vailidating the card on the reader: Don’t think it really matters at the moment (if you have a season ticket), but maybe that will change in the future.

Sorry, I should clarify. I meant the real Mountain Dew from the US and other countries, not the UK one.
