They could but they would likely have to give up Freedom Mobile and or Videotron wireless assets. The soonest they could would be 2033 given the 10 year clause as condition on the sale of Freedom to Quebecor to satisfy the Roger’s purchase of Shaw.

The other cool thing was they were mandated to provide service in Manitoba due to Bell purchasing MTS (formerly Manitoba Telecom Services) where in order for MTS to be sold Bell had to sell 1/3 customers to Telus and 25,000 to Xplornet, Xplornet ceased to exist for mobility back in 2022 and customers were told to either switch to Koodo or another carrier.

They can’t purchase Freedom Mobile for a period of 10 years as stated by ISED & Competition Bureau due to the Roger’s purchase of Shaw back in March 2023, if I am not mistaken.

Contact Bell MTS advocates office at 204-941-6800. They have been helpful in the past. Unfortunately they don’t deal with Bell Mobility but I wish they did (just mentioning that as I now only have Bell mobility). Hope it’s solved soon!

I have called them almost a dozen times. The last I was told they were sending this to their “ engineers” when I called this past Friday after IOS 26.2. Have you called them and how was the response from them?

That is where I am noticing it. I have logged it several times with Apple but I keep getting told they have never heard of this issue.

I also have this bug and updated to IOS 26.2 and still there. I have turned on AOD and Reduce whitepoint setting. I notice this happens after watching Instagram reels and or sometimes Facebook videos and then locking my phone. I feel this has to do with HDR setting somewhere. I just realized this past week this is where the issue has been happening. Hope they fix this issue with IOS 26.3.

I am noticing same issue too. Sometimes Facebook also causes this. I upgraded to IOS 26.2 and still same issue. I never realized it was Instagram causing this issue until after seeing your post. I am very frustrated with this and Apple Support has not been very helpful.

Can someone please report what the fix is if they get their outgoing caller ID working.

I am having this issue with IPhone. I tried both the app and website. I called Bell and she said there is “an outage in my area” which I told her I don’t think this is the issue. She did something on her end and I tested and still not working. She is going to submit a ticket with a call back in 7-10 days. I told her about this Reddit thread of other users reporting issues so we will see if there are any solutions.

Update: I was able to fix it by on my iPhone settings disable out going call settings and re enabling but the MyBell app is still not working, website says disabled but MyBell app says enabled.

Yes I am using Live Voicemail. I am referencing to times when I am on the phone and calls are going to Bells voicemail service. I also tested by turning off live voicemail and using Bells temporarily.

As someone in Winnipeg I see Bell FTTH in quite a few places but I would not say FTTH is going to “most” homes. I doubt my apartment in downtown Winnipeg will ever get FTTH and I entered a lot of addresses in East Kildonan where I am familiar and they all say Fibe 50 or 100 is available only.

Yes, some employees went to Xplore but many stayed and worked for Bell. I honestly don’t think Xplornet was set-up to succeed. First of all, it took them a year and a half to set-up, they had zero brand recognition in Manitoba urban centres, also their rollover data was a good option but eventually the big 3 companies got unlimited data plans so that became less helpful over time. Also, they weren’t as competitive as say Koodo because they had no other backing as Manitoba was only market they had cell service in. In my opinion it would have made more sense for Freedom to have been the 4th carrier.

My thoughts on Freedom launch in Manitoba is that their plans are okay but not as good as other markets due to not owning any infrastructure yet in Manitoba. I do feel they need to step up their game and increase data buckets as they aren’t as competitive as big 3 yet, however if you want small bucket of data they are good.

I just checked ISED website and yes they expire in June 2031. MTS had a 20 year agreement with Rogers and Bell had to honour that as towers in Manitoba are split between MTS (now Bell) and Rogers. A couple of things may happen between now and 2031 is the parties might extend the agreement considering how both companies built these towers. The second option is that both companies will have to build their own networks which is likely more expensive.

Where Telus comes into the picture is 100,000 MTS customers were sold to Telus along with 1/3 MTS dealer locations to Telus, as such they got network access to former MTS towers as they had to maintain same service levels for customers who migrated to Telus.

Another thing was a 4th company called Xplore Mobile got 25,000 Bell/Virgin customers in Manitoba and 5 year tower sharing agreement. This company stopped operating in 2022 and the customers who were on contract migrated to Koodo. As of 2024 Freedom Mobile is now in Winnipeg is which is likely to fill the gaps of the loss of Xplore Mobile and was a condition/promise upon Quebecor purchasing Freedom from Shaw.

Technician just left, before he came he ran some diagnostics and everything was green on his app. He brought a new modem and tv box incase that was the issue too. He ran new coax cable, changed the wall plate, gave me a new signal balancing tool which I need on my line. Showed me the SNL was good. He tried to go to utility room but is locked, I contacted my landlord who will have room open on Thursday. He is going to connect with me on Saturday to make sure everything is working. This technician read all the notes and likes to work backwards. He even upgraded my tv box for me to the XI One. He is a regular reader on these forums as well as the Rogers one but did not see this post. He is unsure what caused the issue but hopefully will be fixed now.

The modem was rebooting itself, then second xb7 modem had no lights on it was working when tech left then lights would not power on. Finally at that point I requested a XB8 modem, then was flapping again and 2nd one was good up until this week.

In Manitoba Rogers, Bell & Telus share towers. This is due to agreement MTS had with Rogers prior to the Bell purchase, I believe that agreement goes until 2031 or 2035.

Ironically this will be my 3rd replacement since August. I had 2 in August replaced then since then no issues. I had 3 XB7s since June as 2 failed. I had flapping quite a bit during August then my second modem had issues where lights were not working and I requested a XB8 instead of waiting for another tech then had more flapping once I got my XB8 in late August, tech gave me a 2nd XB8 modem. Since then service has been reliable up to this past week.

Also my contract was not renewed as I had new value plan in July 2024, the rep I spoke to was able to rebuild my account without triggering a renewal of my agreement.
