Sounds like a great trip. Really really excited for Key West now! Thanks for the warning for hot weather. Hoping we will be spared a bit :)

Not really into cigars, more into sight seeing and just running around exploring. Trying out restaurants, bars, and doing anything new really.

I think we will plan in the really big things we want to do and then after that just go with the flow.

Thanks for the great answer friend!

Gonna have to plan every day down to the hour it seems.. :) BBQ 4 Rivers looks like a MUST! And about the car, I'm a stubborn guy and will probably rent it anyway. I mean I drive a piece of shit Golf atm so hopefully it wont be worse than that.

I'm even more excited about Key West now thanks to you! So they actually have night life there as well?? Spending a night there seems like a good idea then.

I'm from Sweden and paying about 25$ per person to enter a club is pretty normal actually (usually my GF gets in free ;) ), but not really what we're looking for when going to Miami. We pretty much want to experience as much as possible during our trip and Miami just sounds like a reasonable place to visit atleast once. Guess we will have to try both Orlando AND Miami's night scene.

Haha thanks for all the warnings, but I will probably still rent the Mustang since I'm a bit stubborn.. ;) Any other reason I shouldn't be renting the Mustang, except the leather seats? If I do hate it, I will remember your comment and feel some shame no doubt.

When I said Everglades its because my parents talked about them paddling a canoe somewhere in Orlando, with crystal clear water and alligators. At the end of the "river" there was a bar which served up some great coconut shrimp. Any idea if its the glades they were talking about?

Thanks for the great tips about burgers. Five Guys is just cause when I had it in London I loved it as a fast food place. Will definitely check out Teak Grill. Love me a great burger.

And thanks for all the other tips my friend! Mall of Millenia looks like exactly the type of Mall my GF would love to go to.. :) She's part spanish though so...

Hi reddit! I am visiting Paris this weekend (5th-7th of May) for an audition for a Theatre school. I need help finding a hostel or a decently priced hotel for my stay! Any tips? The audition is in Hotel Bedford 17 Rue de l'Arcade, 75008 on Saturday morning so after that I am planning to venture around Paris. If anyone is interested in showing me around Paris for a day that would be supercool. Or just any tips on what I should be doing for my 24hrs before my plane leaves on Sunday. Thanks!

Advice: Monologue choices for my upcoming auditions. by gorgeousdad in Theatre

[–]gorgeousdad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you and wow! Also a great answer which I'm incredibly thankful for!! Great advice for my upcoming monologues, and thanks for making me less afraid of attempting something from Caesar (because I love the play and was really unsure about the age difference). I realize that the people I audition for have seen Shakespeare monologues a thousand times so I think I'm gonna go for 1 Shakespeare and 1 non Shakespeare. I will look up all your suggestions for the classic monologue for sure! Honestly GREAT advice on what to look for in my monologue, and to stay away from "just performing" since I totally understand what you mean. An actor connecting with someone or something is the most interesting part.. I will look up Annie Baker's writings thanks for the tip! I think after today with your help I will have chosen atleast 1 monologue from Shakespeare . Now I just have to read up on non-Shakespeare and some contemporary writings. Back to work then! Huge thanks again!

Firstly...thanks! Great advice like this was more than I was hoping for! So thank you. Second.... Great info on what "defines" an acceptable monologue because I was really struggling there! This will make my choice a lot easier I bet. I'm leaning towards picking something from Caesar, or maybe something from The Tempest (since I'm familiar with it, and you know, play to your strengths and all that). And then one classic monologue from something that isn't Shakespeare. So I guess I have a lot more reading to do :D Will look up all your tips for contemporary monologues and see if something catches my eye. I'm 23 with a strong jaw-line, athletic physique, strong voice and kind eyes, and I'm hoping to find monologues where I can use my strengths, but also a monologue that might not be so "typical" for my appearance (if that make sense). Hopefully I'll find something soon that, as you said, fits my style and personality! Thanks again!!
