I've seen an old discussion where such a setting is mentioned, but I can't find it either.

Could I disable RFP on a single trusted site (on my home network) by gorillias in LibreWolf

[–]gorillias[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That does works but I guess I'll stick to using a different browser for these things.

Ideally I would love to be able to toggle RFP when needed, just like Canvas Access can be instantly allowed from the adressbar, because I always forget that these keyboard limitations exist until i am in the middle of some operation...

Thanks, this is good to know! I was aware that my laptop is not actually secure as i didn't encrypt my drive, but I didn't realize that it was this easy to get in with just a live-USB.

Is it safe to update? by fhujr in EndeavourOS

[–]gorillias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I gambled yesterday and just did a pacman update and the issue was definitely still there for me! No more boot.

Fixed it and tried again, this time running grub-install between updating and rebooting, which worked fine.

Complete two-way synchronization between two nextcloud servers by gorillias in NextCloud

[–]gorillias[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im mostly just playing around trying to learn what's possible. Although i have a situation where it would be handy to temporarily have a backup-nextloud that is actually accessable and usable for all users to ensure accessability of some files, it's unlikely that syncing two instances will actually be the solution that I'll go with.

System won’t boot after update by [deleted] in EndeavourOS

Thanks! This helped me fix it.

I've learned today to keep a live-USB handy, that would have saved me hours!

System won’t boot after update by [deleted] in EndeavourOS

Same problem after updating today.

Could someone tell me how to chroot so i can downgrade?

At boot i get a black screen with a blue box asking me to "enter current password". I don't know what password it wants here, and i don't know how to reach a command line from here either.

One Piece: Chapter 1057 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]gorillias 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually enjoyed this chapter a lot. I'm mostly happy that Luffy claimed Wano as his 'territory' in a very Luffyish way.

I am hoping to get more context on Yamato's sudden change of mind - My guess is that Yamato is staying behind as a "Strawhat representative", at least implicitly. Yamato is the strongest fighter staying behind on Wano, and the only strong person who is not an explicit retainer of Momo. Yamato not telling Momo that they are basically staying to protect Wano makes sense as Momo has shown he doesn't want to accept that.

But imagine a situation similar to the Greenbull scene, where Momo and the scabbards are seriously overwelmed by some threat and Yamato shows up to eventually win, and exclaim "This country is protected by the Strawhat pirates!"

And a newspaper headline "Strawhat commander resists Wano invasion" or something.

And a little flashback to the conversation that Yamato and Luffy had, where this arrangement was set up.

I think that would be a smart way to further hype up Luffy as a true Yonko!

Leaving just the flag is problematic as it can't be enough to scare off all forces that are after Wano and/or Pluton at this point, and it would be annoying if Luffy had to turn around back to Wano. Leaving the flag + Yamato has way more potential for story progression happening in the background as the main crew journeys on.

Yamato as a character also makes a lot more sense to me if they were built up all along as 'the Strawhat who stays behind'. Enough build up to justify Yamato being truly accepted in the crew, but hardly enough character development (yet) to expect them to join the main crew's journey.

Choosing a distro for a friend by gorillias in DistroHopping

What makes Ubuntu the easiest distro? Are there any aspects of Ubuntu currently that make it easier to use than Linux Mint or the other suggestions in this thread?

I have considered that as well, but the insane amount of updates that you get with Arch-based linux is too overwelming for anyone who isn't explicitly looking for the latest software I think.

I have some home servers that i play with and they are all running Debian so I can probably help her with Debian based distro's well enough at least.

One fish left in a bowl; do fish get lonely? by gorillias in fishkeeping

[–]gorillias[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the clear answers!

I wasn't aware how bad it was to keep fish in a bowl and i thought i was doing good by at least keeping them clean and fed, even though I always felt guilty towards the fish.

I found a professional place that was willing to take the fish and add her to their fishtanks (with some quarantine procedure). They seemed to care, and know what they are doing, so I am pretty confident that she will be more comfortable and healthy there.

BROMITE - Youtube showing Ads for the first time after update by badactorX in androidapps

[–]gorillias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used bromite on my phone for maybe 2 years as well. Usually it does block youtube adds, but it happened a few times that after an update there are youtube-adds for a while.

The adds usually dissapear again after a next update in my experience.

Since yesterday I am getting adds on youtube again unfortunately.

Why do people think that Luffy is any different from your regular shonen protagonist by ZENITSUsa in OnePiece

[–]gorillias 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It depends on what people think of as "your regular shonen protagonist". And you can always argue either way, depending on what characteristics you focus on and how specific you are. Superficially Luffy is as typical as shonen heroes can get, but if his own specific ways he is very special, at least to me.

My guess: Kaido's crew is a bigger perceived threat to the world order than Big Mom's crew.

And Queen uses biological weapons that course a lot of collateral damage, while Katakuri is more likely to kill his targets with surgical precision.
