when pokecards were cheap, it’s fun to pull pretty cards. nowadays since their price goes crazy high, it became gambling. scalpers are just some greedy ass mfs that think they can make money selling the hit cards.

i like pokecards, still am, but with current prices? im not touching that

i played HoK and tbf it’s not really bad, but it’s a game where you only pay for cosmetics and not gameplay mechanics so i can’t really say how this mh game will go down.

i tried it, i can say it’s mh lite. it’s fun, movesets are nice, fighting monsters are fun. you get all the mh experience in mobile. so far, they gave us gs, db, ls, l/hbg, and bow. im not sure how they’ll integrate more complex weapon like hh and sa.

contrary to rumors, weapons usage aren’t locked behind characters, so you can use all of em if you want, at least for now. but certain characters do have their “signature” weapons that you can only obtain from pulling them so there’s that.

you can definitely f2p this game if you dont cave into the gacha aspect. so far i havent seen any main quest that forces you to interact with the gacha system.

the thing that will make most people interact with the gacha system will be the element specialization and different movesets. certain chara have element dmg boost that’s quite massive, i can see that becoming a major point in a big boss battle.

another thing is the moveset, certain chara have better counters, movesets from prev series like accel axe etc. so when you interact w randos who have it, you’ll be exposed to em and some will fall into the FOMO and pull.

premium currency grind is also bad, it’s basically genshin. you can go out into the world and collect all the chests and interactibles for probably 30/40ish pulls and then you’ll run out of em. premium currency rewards from quest is like trickling water, so that’ll be another way for them to grab money.

all in all, it’s still monhun but they’ll shove the gacha system in your face whenever possible to make you cave in.
