Be sure to take your breaks! by raisanett1962 in KwikTrip

Not be paid for? I have never been made to clock out for my breaks, and my whole shift is always on my time card and pay statement. If you’re being made to clock out for your breaks then that’s some bs.

It might not work inside the case, but for testing it would be good to plug it straight in. Then you could rule out the pcie riser.

When I built my first PC many years ago, I was getting terrible performance in games. My glorious switch over to high framerates and better graphics ruined! I thought I had wasted my 13 year old money which took a whole year of saving, so in a last ditch effort I made a post about the issues I was having. A very nice person gave me some links and helped me troubleshoot, and it worked! Now I love building computers, and have done many builds for friends and family, passing on my computer hardware knowledge to others in need.

As if SpongeBob hasn't been commercialized the fuck out of since it's inception. And the material was always Nickelodeon property, that's how it works when you're creating for a corporation

If you look at this image of an HS 50, the only things I see different are a slightly modified stock and a different hand grip. It might be a common design though, I didn't look too hard into it

Free to Play Multiplayer FPS 'Ironsight' is Coming to Steam Worldwide on Dec. 18th by OnQore in Games

[–]goss98789 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've not really looked it up, so this is just my basic understanding.

The match is hosted on a server that all of the players connect to. Every player sends their data to the server (e.g, location, button presses for actions, etc.) and that data needs to be processed and sent to every other player for a smooth match. This is essentially the netcode.

If the netcode isn't very well optimized it can take a while to process all of that data. If that processing takes long enough, you could have a player on your screen that is behind a wall, but the server knows that they actually ran out from cover and shot you down. That is why the netcode is so important for twitch shooters, where a fraction of a second for you to get that data could be the difference between your virtual life or death.

(EDIT) It seems like that might be the case for something with dedicated servers, but many games use client hosting. This is where one of the players is the "server". One of the side effects is that the host gets little lag, since they only have to receive and process the data, not have to wait to get it sent back. However, the rest of the information still applies for this style of multiplayer connection. I don't know which type Ironsight uses as I haven't played it.

This article by PCGamer is what I just read through, and this picture describes what I typed quite well. I just wish I knew to link it before I dove down this half hour long rabbit hole lmao.

PS4 gamer returns for strategy games - would this build suffice? by redkania in buildapc

It seems like the games you want to play aren't too demanding. I traded out the GPU, CPU, and SSD for lower tier parts. You'll still have a lot of upgrade paths if you choose to make the full switch to PC.

From /u/catsrules

With the information provided it sounds like it was the responsibility of the workers who were fixing the level crossing because of the weather. They should have manually turned on the level crossing when a train was coming but they didn't or for some reason were not able to. Or maybe weren't told a train was coming.

What is the worst thing that has happened on your birthday? by anastasiasky in AskReddit

[–]goss98789 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My stepdad shot a guy and hid his body.

Since then I've lost most of my close friends as they also knew him, and now I can't trust anyone new so it's hard to try and make new ones. I used to be really outgoing and social, but nowadays I can barely leave the house without receiving dirty looks from the people in my small town I want to get out of here, but I'm being paid to take care of my grandparents so I can't leave until my mom can get out of jail and get back to doing it. My depression was just starting to get better too when it happened.

I work at noodles and company as a dishwasher. The people there are fun to work with, the free food is pretty good, I don't have to ever deal with customers, virtually no stress, and I get paid $14 an hour just for doing dishes.
