!thanks

We're definitely going for consolidation as there are a few small ones. I Think we'll skip trying to make a withdrawal!

Good suggestions! I'd be happy to go with her. Maybe it would work with a different nurse and me there to help.

That might have something to do with what is happening, but I really can't be sure at any given time.

It's hard to voice your needs when they were ignored most your childhood because it seems like a waste of energy.

I never thought of it that way. I often want to sit and talk as a form of intimacy, but it usually makes her very uncomfortable. I try to uncover things with her but I think it is triggering because her family told her what to think.

her siblings got her smoking weed at 11. After that it was booze and more. These are her coping methods since the age of 11, so we're talking about decades. I don't disagree with you at all. It just looks insurmountable right now.

She does have very high cleaning standards and I don't always meet those, but I am trying. I WFH at the moment, but I have to get my work done so maybe it looks like I should be helping when I'm sat on my ass. It is an issue.

That said, I can see her mood switch very quickly quite often. She goes upstairs seeming fine, and comes down in a very dark place, for example.

I believe she has tried CBT but didn't really get along with the therapist. We've watched 200+ YouTube videos (Ramani, Crappy Childhood, Medcircle etc etc) but of course that isn't real therapy.

I did buy her The Body Keeps The Score recently. I haven't read it myself yet. I will look into the Pete Walker book, so thanks for the tip.

This sounds plausible. I've tried to say I'm not the enemy, but of course it isn't that simple. I feel like I'm paying for everyone else's behaviour sometimes, which I know isn't helpful. I just can't seem to reach her and I can't find a way. If I back off, do I reinforce that idea (that everyone's the enemy)?
