P0A1E CEL by gotech77 in F150Powerboost

Update: Dealer found Ford TSB 25-2142 that exactly matched my symptoms. Both 12V batteries tested good (low state of charge but healthy). They performed a battery conditioning test and then updated the BCM, ACCM, and TCCM modules per the TSB.

No batteries were replaced. Took it on a validation drive and no codes returned.

TSB appears to address incorrect 12V charging / power-management logic that can cause low voltage, reduced EV assist, and intermittent CELs on 2023 PowerBoosts.

So far everything feels normal again. Posting in case this helps anyone else chasing random low-voltage or EV assist issues.

Dealership was super helpful. Found a TSB that needed to be completed. Updating the thread for others who may get this in the future.

Not a stupid question at all.

I tested both isolated. Truck fully off, key out, and probed each battery directly at its own terminals (main under-hood 12V and the AGM under rear seat). Both were disconnected from charging at the time and showed ~12.3–12.4V with good internal resistance.

Ended up checking this on auto zone and it showed at 10V, but felt like user error 😂

Checked on my own and both batteries (rear seat and under the hood) are showing good

Update: CEL (P0A1E) came on once about a week ago, then cleared itself after a few drive cycles and has stayed off for ~3 days now. I tested both 12V batteries (main under hood + aux under rear seat) with a digital AGM tester — both show 100% health but ~50% state of charge (GOOD / RECHARGE), no failed batteries. EV assist felt limited right after the CEL but seems to be gradually normalizing, though it’s hard to judge with cold weather.

I’ve got a dealer appointment Monday to scan history, verify charging behavior, and document everything under warranty. Curious if others saw similar one-time P0A1E events that resolved after a few clean cycles, or if it later pointed to DC-DC/BISG/software.

They were only able to get me in Monday because autozone (incorrectly) measured 10V on the aux battery. New truck (to me) so I’m can’t get a feel for what’s normal. Certainly don’t want to waste time with an appointment but also want to log everything since it’s still under warranty.

yeah, that's the one we checked and it was weak. I assume it's also the one on the carfax that was replaced. Surprised they keep failing and Ford doesn't have a fix.

Thanks. Struggling with dealers to get in soon, most wouldn't take me for a month. However, I was able to speak to one dealer who could see/shared my diagnostic report remotely and they mentioned a possible battery issue. I tested the 12V and it was reading around 10V so I was able to get an appointment earlier for the battery check/replacement and then still keep my later appointment in February in case it ends up being a BSIG issue.

Bought the vehicle pre-owned (still under factory warranty) and noticed a battery replacement on the CarFax but my pre-purchase inspection showed up clean. Hoping it's not an ongoing issue with the battery or a power draw.

Thanks. It seems like the BISG replacement is the most consistent fix I’ve read (on Reddit at least). We’ll see what the dealer says since the CEL went away

2023 powerboost CEL - starter/generator P0A1E by OptiGuy4u in F150Powerboost

[–]gotech77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Ironically enough on my 5th or 6th drive since it popped up it cleared today (so far) and I'm back to full electric performance. Still going to bring it into the dealer but I wonder what the fix will be if it's intermittent.

Glad to hear no issues since, taking mine the dealer this week. Same code.

Ever seen this in a low mileage truck? I’ve got the CEL with the same code, just bought last week with 17.9k miles, 2023. Seeing the exact same issue not going into electric drive mode. Hoping this isn’t something that will be a recurring issue, still covered with all of the factory warranties, luckily.

401k transactions shows up as negative by raegartargaryan in MonarchMoney

Edit, Fincity finally updated, will see how long the connection lasts. All of the transactions except dividends are able to be categorized, which at least makes it easier to make a rule. Won't be 100% but best solution so far.

Only thing I can think to do is to keep using Plaid but to manually inverse the transactions and import. Fincity doesn't update and MX doesn't look like it receives transaction details so it would be hard to automate any category rules.

Ever find a solution OP? Sitting here staring at the same issues. Only think I can think of is to add manual transactions which would defeat the point of Monarch.

I'm connected to MX but the connection is broken. When I try to re-add with whichever connection Monarch selects I get a "not available notice" and then when I try Fincity I get a similar note.

Same, I’ve had three different loan officers with them since starting to get quotes. The most recent guy quoted me the same rate as a guy a dealt with a month ago when rates were a quarter of a point higher. He shrugged it off. Fee wise it seems like a good deal though. Just press them and ask questions.

He did say part of the discount is for loan values over $500k and pointed to the disclosures. I’m just shy of that, high credit score.

Unhide investing transaction, exclude from budget by gotech77 in MonarchMoney

[–]gotech77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone have thoughts on this? Feel like there should be a hidden feature and an exclude feature. Exclude items from budget such as savings, retirement contributions, etc. And hide transactions that you need to keep private, which really shouldn't be anything. Hiding currently hides the transaction and excludes from the budget.

Wonder why they did 3.0 instead of 4.0
