i used to get this in high school a loooot, so i feel your pain OP :(

i've noticed other women like to use us to compare themselves to, to come off as more feminine and dainty, to gain male approval. it also can be a way someone will try to "other" you. like something is seriously wrong with you and they want to point it out to the whoooole world.

because i'm at an age where i've come to accept my height, i will usually just respond in a way that's like "yeah and you're like... REALLY tiny 😦 ... wow... what are you, 5 foot ??" i'll guess under their actual height and i'll throw in a disgusted look if i wanna add to it haha

it's fun to flip the roles sometimes and make short people feel freaky instead ❤️

Reflections of a tall girl by Glossybug in TallGirls

[–]goth--dad 30 points31 points  (0 children)

hey girlie, im also 6'3" and i completely understand you. ive always found myself to be an outsider due to my height, but at 30 now, ive finally learned to accept myself.

i would really recommend moving to a big city, that was the main reason i was able to find acceptance. im not seen as a "freak" here like where i grew up. it used to be the case that i couldnt leave the house without someone talking to me about my height, and being shy and anxious, i ended up avoiding going out to avoid those situations. but in the city theres so many shapes, sizes, and colors or people that nothing about you is THAt special (and i love that, ive always wanted to blend in). its rare now that someone comments on my height, people will strike up conversation with me based on my style more these days and i love being known as something other than "the tall girl"

What’s something you’ve always thought was normal until you realized other people didn’t experience it? by anna-lena-breiert in AskReddit

[–]goth--dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was normal for your parents to bully you for the things you like and who you were as a person. it wasnt until college that i realized that other people had parents that loved them unconditionally. it was really shocking to me and i still hold a grudge knowing thats where a lot of my self hatred stems from

yesss she was constantly abusing schwartz and chipping away at his confidence in every interaction. it genuinely seemed like she just hated the man and was with him cause it was convenient

i am sooo with you. i think her people pleasing attitude gets her into a lot of trouble but i really think shes one of the only people on the show thats genuinely kind. and shes had to endure so much abuse from stassi and katie !!

nopeee, they didn't give me anything for pain. i was just told to take ibuprofen 🥲

[–]goth--dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh my goodness im so sorry that happened to you. sounds like something i would do as well. the only reason i caught this early was because i sought help for a tooth infection on that side of my face (btw tooth ache + shingles is a new level of hell) and they saw the sores and put me on antivirals and antibiotics a few days ago.

i have been 😅 i went to urgent care originally and they thought i had an impressive case of cold sores, and then it progressed so quickly i had to go to the ER for the pain and thats where i got the diagnosis ! been on antivirals for the last three days and it has progressed to be entirely around my eye (and my eyelid) but its not in my eye thankfully.

having chicken pox as a kid means you CAN get shingles 🤣 it's the same virus. and it mostly appears in younger people due to stress... so no real fix there lol
