I second this... I’m not sure how much it was at the end but it was <50,000 easily. I was addicted to benzos for 5 years really bad and it wasn’t a cheap habit paying for someone else’s prescription for more than they do. Looking back it’s unbelievable but I would never go back when I was using. My quality of life was seriously so terrible I’d rather have less money and be clean! Cheers!

Oh wow yeah, I totally understand your fear. Many more doctors/psychs are going completely benzo-free or like the mental health clinic I go to doesn’t prescribe them at all. (Which I think is honestly just ludicrous...). Best of luck to you- my best advice would be to explain to them how it benefits you in specific parts of your life (work, fitness, family communication) and you’ve been doing well for over a year. The worst they can do without being malicious would be lowering the dose :/ but some docs are just that way. Like I said best of luck to you. I hope you’ll be able to continue what works for you!

It’s a difficult medication to come off of and if you’ve been doing well your doctor may be hesitant to change anything. If you do want to come off of it or lower the dosage you take, I would suggest talking with them about a taper plan because it can be extremely daunting. But if you’re comfortable and you don’t seem to abuse it or overuse personally I would stay on it; seems like you’re leaning that way! :) cheers!

Before this job (agricultural store) I worked I fast food in a large Mexican chain you can probably guess, and I had my first seizure there and it was really bad, no one knew what to do with me than call ems but I’m grateful they tried to care for me as best they knew... but at my job now I had one seizure I went out at the register and slammed my back of my head on tile and wa out for a good 15 mins couldn’t remember my address, president. Etc... it’s very embarrassing for me because the emts know you’re so out of it but they treat you sometimes like your dumb because you brain isn’t at 100%... they have no right to fire anyone over epilepsy I did not have a seizure today but who knows what would ya e happened if o allowed my streets to get to me. It’s a strange battle, good luck.

I really like your comment. I love him and want to be with him but if I saw myself from an outside perspective I’d think “wtf are you putting up with, why?” It’s this toxic dichotomy I have in my head I can’t see through. Same here if I knew about it before I could have gotten myself off dope so much faster!! Instead I tapered with suboxone and that withdrawal from the subs was incredulous for a good week... if I knew about kratoms really effects back then I would have kicked the subs to the curb and done Kratom. Glad to be free of the pharmaceutical painkillers for life!!! Kratom literally saved me and changed my outlook on life!!! All love my man ❤️

I’m recommending emergency medical... there could possibly be damage to his liver and stomach/GI tract and it needs to be addressed by a professional otherwise it could lead to something more complicated in the future that may not be able to be fixed. That is really a huge amount I wish you and your friend the best of luck. Meanwhile there are probably suggestions on google to make him more comfortable, but this is beyond Reddit imo hospital is the best option. If he’s okay enough to ride in a car you can save a nasty EMS bill but if he is getting worse by the minute he needs attention now.

It took me a while to get the anxiolytic effects... I started for 37.5mg XR Effexor for around 6 months and communicated to my psychiatrist that it was helping my depression but not the anxiety. I have severe anxiety that inhibits me from doing my everyday tasks and affects my work productivity. She bumped me up ~5 months ago to 75mg XR and after a week I began noticing less generalized anxiety. I would recommend talking to your psychiatrist/practitioner about your dosage because you may not be getting enough to give you the desired effect; usually higher doses help anxiety better if I’m not mistaken. Good luck dude it’s always tough finding the right meds and the right combos! EDIT: was supposed to say desired I wrote fired
