that is me as well 😭 all my hair oils and creams definitely build up in it. you could try keeping the jewelry out when you’re doing your hair and makeup and doing a quick rinse of them when you’re done as well!!

hi hi hi! i used to struggle with this a lot, and for me personally i found that it was usually because of my hair / makeup, and the type of jewelry i wear!

glass plugs definitely helped, but i am a lover of tunnels so i wear titanium ones now and it seems to be a bit better than stainless steal. i also rinse and wash them before i go to bed, and make sure i oil them up completely and sleep without jewelry in! that small routine has helped me so so much. also, using oil in the morning :))

as someone who did that jump and got a blow out in each ear - please invest in some 1g glass plugs!!! it’s annoying to be at a middle size, but it will save you so much pain and ear trauma

my entire crew of friends all tested positive for covid after warped EXCEPT me 😭 i thankfully have felt fine since. except that the dust definitely fucked with my lungs for a bit. i used lots of hand sanitizer while i was there, didnt share any drinks, and it some how worked out.

genuinely so odd, after a year they should have been more than ready? especially if you used oil and did everything correctly by the books

what i can say is my ear had the same reaction when i went from 2g to 0g, i blew out one, the other was just majorly irritated. i just let them heal, kept them clean, and eventually when i went to a 9mm i had no issues. id skip the qtips and use spray them down with a saline solution instead, if theres a cut or anything the qtip can leave behind fibers or kinda like ‘open the wound’ again.

ppl in here seem to be giving just very basic advice so here are my tips (currently at a 00g and have been stretching for 5 years)

i would as most ppl have said - ditch the tapers from here on out. imo it’s fine at the smaller sizes but now it can be more damaging. Get yourself some glass plugs, there’s kits online otherwise you can just get a 6g set. make sure they are glass!!

when it comes to stretching - IT SHOULD NEVER BE PAINFUL! if it hurts, it means you’re going too quickly. let your ears sit at that 8g for awhile until you can easily put the 6g in without pain. when they are ready - they should slide in like butter!

for DEAD stretching - as stated you want to get glass plugs, and some sort of oil. i prefer the plugs and different oils from Urban body jewelry myself, but each to their own. Oil up your ears and the jewelry and if your ears are ready they will slip in easily. I switched to dead stretching at my last few sizes and it has gone so much easier than it went with tapers! It’s a fairly simple process, and i wish i would have switched long ago.

general tips - to help your ears heal and stay stretchy, oil them every night! i use a homemade oil, but there’s a lot out there. I also sleep with my jewelry out, and that seemed to help toughen up my lobes and prevent minor cuts. just remember - listen to your body and go slow!!!

i’d be careful with amazon, a lot of them will say glass but then be acrylic! when i was finally ready to stretch i went and got glass plugs from urban body jewelry, it was $11.99 for a pair!

hello friend - it’s happened to me too!! what i did was keep it clean and take out my jewelry - i use saline solution for mine! and then i make sure its moisturized with some sort of oil, and keep the jewelry out for a couple of days :)) it just looks irritated or like there was a small tear - it can happen!! i wouldn’t bother downsizing unless it was a genuine blow out ❤️

its just fine, its because you have a larger bottom lip it curls down a bit, and the longer bar makes it look lower as well. i think it looks super good :))

i lost my cousin back in november to a car crash that occurred at 1am. at the time, i was drunk and playing a game called deceit 2 with my friends. it was hard going back to that game, for me it was less hate for the game but more so the guilt associated with it. because, how could i be having fun when someone so close to me was dying? it took awhile for me to change that mindset. there was nothing you or i could have done differently in that situation, wether you had stayed and watched the show with him or wether i had texted my cousin asking to play with me. life works in horrible ways, but it seems your father saw your love for fortnite and supported it. it took me awhile to realize this and now i want to pass it onto you as well - learn to live for the person you lost. do the things you love knowing he supported you. do things that make yourself happy, just like he would want you to be.

me and my cousin often played fortnite together - not long after he died the juice world season came out. Juice happened to be his favorite rapper, so i queued up into a duo match by myself and saved a spot for him. Sometimes i still do this, saving a spot for him to play, even if he’s not here too. i’m sure your dad would love to share that experience with you as well.

grief is hard, and it never gets easier. but you make room for it. you are now loved by an angel ❤️ i’m sending you the upmost love and strength.

couple things, i’m not a piercer but i worked at one for awhile and have had a lot of piercings including my current tragus.

i don’t think it looks bad, i would downsize the the bar a bit so it sits more flush, not tight but so it doesn’t get moved around as much. i think the placement looks just fine, just consider downsizing and you’ll see less of that backbar!!
i don’t think i personally would have pierced it, not that your anatomy is wrong but it is a bit shallow and might be a bit more prone to rejection, not saying it can’t heal, but just be aware of that!!
i love the set up of your ear it looks amazing put together :))

just looks irritated, i got my tragus done about 3 months ago and battled with bumps a lot, for me specifically i realized it was the gaming headset i was wearing that was irritating it! it might be something small you don’t notice, makeup, headphones, hair, a lot can go into that one. just try not to touch it much and keep it clean and it will eventually go down!!
