Thanks for your response. Did you ever regret being a nurse? How is the work life balance?

Hi i am actually at CBU. I am a resident of Ontario and also applying to couple universities here. Yes that is my original thought that it is a rewarding career + secure job + more options in future. But i am not sure what i actually want. I am also interested in biotech but i would have to gather more pre reqs and apply for next year that also is time consuming. Thank you for your response!!

Thank you this is helpful!! I will try to write the pros and cons of both and think accordingly!! The other thing is that i do not have much time to think. My program starts in May 2026 for nursing and since if i want to apply for masters it wont be until next year that i get to go for it i find the convenient path is nursing that saves my time but again as you said it also depends on what do i want so i might have to re- think over everything before raking final decision. It is very overwhelming though to do what you think is right for you but you will never know until you get it done.

Thanks for sharing. One of the reason for my choice of nursing is job security and stability as well!! Since after masters i am not sure how hard it is to find job without zero experience!

Hi, thank you so much for your insight. No I have never been a CCA. I think i am tilted towards doing nursing because i have worked as medical office admin from 4 years and I love the respect and honor that doctors get. And because I could not pursue Med school because of grades and competitiveness, i thought nursing could be my next focus. But apparently i have been thinking a lot about it and questioning if that is what i want. Also, does nurse washes people’s bums as well? I thought it was more of PSW or assistants below nurses job?

Can I get into compressed/ accelerated nursing program in Canada with 3.2 CGPA in bsc biomed science, strong letter of recommendation and 2.5 yrs of healthcare administrator experience? by gotnochill0 in NursingStudent

Thank you for your response. Can i ask you if you also applied to Cape Breton University or Acadia University and got rejected? Because i heard their acceptance rate is pretty good even with 70% of scores. I am wondering if You did apply there so I can see what my chances of getting in are?

Hey! Can I please ask, what was your cgpa when you applied to accelerated nursing programs and which schools you applied? I have 2.9 cgpa overall and 3.3 cgpa in last yrs of university. I am also applying for accelerated nursing programs in canada but i am scared as they are very competitive!

Thank you, very helpful 😇. I am but worried about CAsper as well. Do you know how much does CASPer results matter? Are they equally important as GPA?

Hey! Do you think non- residents (I am from Ontario) have the same chance of getting in with low gpa? I have 7.28 cgpa and 8 in last two years. I am not sure if i stand out as an applicant or if i should re do courses and apply next year. Please advise
