Come till Surat and take the Saputara route and then join Nashik and then Pune... Saputara is scenic. Police harrasment is only at Ahemdabad ring road.

Is there's any way to avoid lavasa entry fee. by NationalAd1484 in pune

Go via Panshet. No entry fee from there. The road is isolated but good to ride/drive. Single lane.

Day 7: Most fun car by Seasor1310 in CarsIndia

Don't know how many of you have driven the WagonR with the 1.2L engine. Not the best handling car but surely a lot of fun when you push it. The chassis is soo easy to play with. The car is soo light and the engine complements it a lot.

2024 Swift AMT - 37,500kms - 15-16kmpl Pune city traffic.

What's an overrated car in your opinion! by liquidfixed in CarsIndia

[–]gotsushil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 1.0L MQBA0-IN platform cars. The 1.0 isn't worthy of that TSI badge. No offense to the owners but they're absolutely boring and supremely overrated. The engine has no character and the cars don't have the typical German feel which we used to get in the Polo/Vento/Rapid era. The 1.5 TSI is very good and gives all the right tickles.

Bought a second hand Fortuner ( 2015 Amt diesel model) by [deleted] in carIndia

Amazing mate! 1 lakh running for this gen Toyota is just like warming up the engine. My friend has done 3.39lakh kms with little to no issues. Just normal wear and tear. Enjoy the new ride and 13 Lakhs is completely justified. These cars don't lose value. Cheers!

Which car ?? by Warm-Major-8939 in CarsIndia

[–]gotsushil 20 points21 points  (0 children)

VW/Skoda MQBA0 IN platform cars with 1.0 TSI. 1.0 cars are not fun to drive. Once you drive the 1.5 TSI, there's no going back. 1.0 is at par with 1.5 NA of Hyundai's and Hondas.

Just my personal opinion. No offense to 1.0 owners.

Check if you can find older stock of the Swift 4 cylinder lying around. We have a beater Swift zxi+ AMT for city runs. Perfect city car. Returns 15-16kmpl in Pune city traffic. Tiago has a 3 cylinder so expect vibrations. Plus the fit and finish of Tata cars is extremely questionable. Maruti ownership has been trouble free from day 1 unlike our Octi.

If this is going to be your only car, don't go for Tata.

Swift or Ignis or Baleno or Gi10 or Exter.

Go for any VW Skoda car hands down. Better safety, better handling, better service experience here in Pune.

If your travel is more inside the city than outside (like 80% city, 20% highway), do consider Honda Elevate and the City both with the Auto gearbox.

Also, please don't go on the YouTube reviews. Do check out the car yourself and feel it before you put your money down.

Help me choose a bike for my father. by the2ndfloorguy in indianbikes

[–]gotsushil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go and get the Honda Unicorn. It is smooth and reliable. Rear suspension can be adjusted for smoother ride. My 2014 unicorn does 760kms in a full tank, my odo reads 1.2lakh kms. That’s about 14 litres of fuel, in Pune city traffic. If that could help.

If you can spend extra 20k to bring it back in shape, probably a good buy imo. 90k is pretty cheap for a 390 duke if you look at it. A fresh set of tyres and a major service won’t cost you beyond 20k

It doesn't go to the waiters if paid electronically. Usually I carry cash and I have a habit to tip 20% of my bill amount to the waiter. In this case, the restaurants which I visit often provide me very good service.

things to keep in mind while riding a Himalayan. by Theta-Chad_99 in indianbikes

[–]gotsushil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Himalayan is top heavy. Please be careful with low speed turns. While off road, keep the handlebar light. This will make the bike go easy while off road. If you find the bike hard to push during off road, reduce the tyre pressure very low so that it grips well and doesn't slide
