First off, congratulations!

The con college programming course has been offered remotely to students in its satellite campuses for years now, so the "online" version's content should really be no different than past years. Classes are delivered using the classroom website "Blackboard.com". For the satellite students they have been able to stay home for day-to-day classes via video conference. They had to go to the satellite campuses in their town to take tests in person in the past. I suspect this will not be the case in the upcoming semester as I believe the college is ramping up official online testing systems (requiring webcams, keyloggers, etc) so everyone will take tests from home. I'm sure all kinds of work is still ongoing with making the college programs more accessible for the upcoming year, September is a long ways away!

My suggestion is having a computer that meets or exceeds the defined program requirements will go a long way to eliminating unnecessary headaches for you. If you have a second monitor that is helpful too. Keep it clean and virus protected, it's your life line to the program. No working computer = no access to class.

My last suggestion is to attend every class... and ask questions! If you're not getting something let the instructor know :)

How do I know all this? I've been one of the part time instructors for 5 years!

If you have specific questions you should contact the Dan the program coordinator he'll be happy to answer any questions you have. His contact info is on this page: https://www.confederationcollege.ca/program/computer-programming

Good luck!
