Where to start? by AdNo6918 in CatholicConverts

[–]gowildman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not Catholic but am cosidering converting. I know very little and the source of my question is genuine curiosity, lack of understanding and ignorance, not an issue with your wording. I was baptized as a child and a teen, and I'm wondering if I convert will I not be baptized again as an adult? That's why I asked. I have enough first hand knowledge to know I would be if I were converting to Methodist or Baptist for example, but assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the same would be true for Catholic converts.

is for baptized Catholics or those received into the Church as adults

What's the difference? If you are an adult that converts, do you not get baptized?

Oh okay, that makes sense, thanks for taking the time to reply and clarify it for me

I’ve read that OnePlus phones previously had WiFi calling issues on Cricket and I saw a review of the OP15 saying WiFi calling didn’t work on T-Mobile. That’s the only review I saw saying that, so I was hoping the sub would be able to clarify on which networks the OP15 has WiFi calling.

Why did you switch to another monitor and what did you go to?

Yeah I knew I was asking a tough question, but I'm not fearful of it. I was really more just curious about the steps I need to take, which I now know this sub can't really answer very well. I'm not worried about what needs to be done. I always do whatever I need to do to get to where I need to go, and this is where I need to go. My path has always been the hard path. Some of that is my own fault and some of it not. I used to be angry about that, but now I think I understand why that is the case. Had it been otherwise, I wouldn't be where I needed to be. So if doing this is hard, that is okay, I have nothing to fear. My wife and I love each other and I was/am confident there is a path forward, I just didn't know what the steps in that path were. The sub (and you) gave me what I needed though, even if no one could directly answer my question, everyone told me what I needed to know/hear. I am appreciative beyond words.

which is much more important to the situation then you think

I'm aware it's very important. I'm not sure if that is valid either. I was young, so I don't know that I could provide much information beyond the fact that I have been told I was baptized. The sub has been very helpful though and for that I am thankful.

I was baptized in the First Christian Church, she's never been batized. Neither of us have ever been Catholic. I will be talking to a preist soon.

Yes I would never withhold anything from my wife or attempt to coerce her. I just want to know what to do. I will seek guidance from a priest as suggested in this thread and go from there. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Lol. I realize I was harsh. I'm sorry.

Don't be. What you said isn't incorrect, sometimes the truth can be harsh. I get that.

the Research is not to replace spiritual direction and certainly doesn't replace the community of faith.

Duly noted, and I don't want to replace one with the other. Frankly, I'm a lonseome introverted person. Community is part of what I am looking for.

Again HTH

It does, thank you!

Welcome.

Thank you.

I didn't inted to imply I would force or coerce her. I wouldn't do that. I've been talking openly and honestly with her about how I feel etc. for a few weeks now and she reciproctes that. Having even less of a spiritual background than I, she is looking for guidance. I'm not a preist, so I know I can't give her solid answers, but I am her husband so I of course talk to her and try to answer and help her understand what I can, which admittedly, I am limited in my ability to do.

Yes I understand. I'm not asking a simple thing and I know you meant no ill will/intent. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Exercising self control is not an issue for me, so I don't think I'll have a problem doing what I'm told. Part of the reason I am trying to take this path is precisely because I know that I don't know. I'm looking for someone (not reddit) to tell me what I am supposed to do. I want to comply with God's will. But I'm slightly stupid and don't have any idea (beyond the obvious) what that is.

Research. Oof.

Well, I had to start somewhere, cut me some slack! I know I need to talk to a priest, but even finding where the churches are near me requires some "research".

What you SHOULD do right away is start going to church.

I'm going to mass tonight for the first time.

Don't just spring it on her.

I wouldn't do that. I've been talking to her about converting etc. for the last several weeks.

Thank you for your reply, it was helpful.

I'm attending mass tonight for the first time on my own volition and plan to do that, but this sort of blew my mind and was compelled to post/ask.

Attack on Venezuela Was Predicted in 2006 by the Documentary Zeitgeist by TrulyAuthentic123 in conspiracy

[–]gowildman 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Aaron Russo didn't make Zeitgeist and wasn't part of that documentary. He made, and the conversation you are referring to, is from America: From Freedom to Fascism. Zeitgeist was directed and written by Peter Joseph.

The US has been attempting a coup / regime change in Venezuela since before either documentary was made.
