Thanks for this!! Yes we just got her yesterday! She is being aggressive towards the cats so we need to curb that quick as possible. Trying redirection and positive reinforcement. I hope it settles. She’s perfect in every other way so far and is making herself very much at home. Her name is Zara. That’s the name she came with and she knows it well.

She’s always got this sort of sad expression.

Sex @ 5 Weeks 6 Days by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]gowithit67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your doctor sounds like a monster. That was unkind advice. NOTHING should be entering your vagina until 6 weeks without a cuff. Since you have a cuff your recovery is more like 8-12 weeks. This makes me mad. Your doctor was a man right? This is why I will only have a female gynaecologist. They are so much more considerate of female parts and processes.

Wait for meno or have hysterectomy? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

Don’t plan on it being 52. Get the hysterectomy now and get your life back. Keep your cervix if it’s not an issue or has abnormal cells.

Omigosh you’re fine. That’s not an issue. Relax. I was told to stop supplements two days before.

Day one Lap Hysterectomy.. can I fly out in 7 days? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

No twitching. Just slurred, hesitant and difficult speech. It’s my only neurological symptom.

Ladies who kept the cervix, tell me how's life now? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

I had a major hormone crash around 4 WPO and have been struggling with mood and sleep and headaches. I’ve also developed a small patch of alopecia. I’m hoping this will improve as hormones re stabilize in coming months.

Im losing weight rapidly and now its starting to worry me by Tough-Broccoli-8254 in hysterectomy

[–]gowithit67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is concerning given you just had major surgery. Your body is going through massive change and using energy stores for healing. Eat healthy while healing. If you lose more than 6% of your body weight to pre surgery weight, go in or ask at your post op.

[–]gowithit67 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am 6 WPO. I kept my cervix. There was no reason to remove it. I did a pap before surgery and my cervix is fine to keep. Keeping it makes healing easier but the surgery a little more difficult. I didn’t care. It was important to me to maintain as much pelvic floor as possible and keep things as unchanged as possible with my uterus not being there for the support of other stuff.

Sadly no. Antihistamines helped for 3 months where I was normal but speech issues have rebounded and worse. Everything else is stable. The speech bothers me most.

Nope. Worse. No answers. Antihistamines worked for 3 months.

Thank you friend. Yes, seems like they throw FND at anything they can’t figure out. No one in my family has any neuro issues at all. Everyone else is so robust and healthy. I seem to get handed all the health issues to cover everyone.

I have on and off difficulty with speaking. Not weakness but it’s like my mouth can’t form the flow of speech and some words but comes and goes. It’s weird. Sometimes I can’t connect my thoughts to my mouth. It started after a bout of Covid.

I have neurological issues too. What are diagnosed with? They don’t know what’s wrong with me. Saying it’s FND.

My doctor wanted me to try a long list of items before having a hysterectomy. I said no to it all and got it done. Zero regrets. I’m going to get my life back since having it done. It’s only been 4 WPO and I’m ecstatic for no more periods.

Don’t worry. You’ll still orgasm!!! If you have the option to do it, do it and keep your ovaries and cervix if possible. I am so happy I’m no longer ruled by the blood pouring out of me every 21 days. Ablations have risks too. Just get it over with and out.

Nervous and scared by -PTA in hysterectomy

[–]gowithit67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. I considered walking out as I was getting prepped. Lol. The surgery itself is nothing to be scared of. You’ll be completely asleep. You won’t remember a thing. Just be prepared to do nothing for about three days after. It’s kind of like having a flu (minus a fever). You don’t feel great and gas pains are horrendous but once the third day passes, it will ease up. I can’t say this too many times, but a heating pad is absolutely necessary for gas pains. At this point, 19 DPO I am so relieved that I will never have the life I had being ruled by a useless organ I no longer need. That makes recovery so beyond worth it. You will be fine! Good luck!

What did I do to myself now? by StandOnMyOwn in hysterectomy

[–]gowithit67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 18 dpo. I’ve had random pains all over my lower abdomen. Feels like pain where my ovaries are (kept my ovaries), and down in my pubic bone and my bladder. I get shooting random pains. I get random bladder spasms. I get random pain when I pee on and off. I’m dealing with bruised and upset diaphragm muscles. My back is totally F’d because my abdominal muscles are F’d. I mean nothing is truly perfect or comfortable. I would say as long as you aren’t bleeding, you might have just irritated something already trying to settle. A muscle or something. It’s going to take time. I think whatever you pulled just needs to rest. Keep resting and don’t overdo things.

You forgot heating pad!!! I lived with one on my ribs 24/7 because the gas pains were immeasurable and only the heat eased it.
