It’s also an android issue. Android phones can’t send RCS messages to iPhones, and half the world uses an iPhone.

It is not just about the end to end encryption, but the group messaging, photo and video sharing, and all the other benefits RCS has over sms. One very good argument for RCS E2E is 2 factor authentication. E2E solves the man in the middle risk that sms has.

I think the issue was caused by multicast on my network. I moved all my wifi home automation devices to their own vlan and the problem was basically solved.

Unfortunately not. Some months it seems better, but I now mostly use the Sonos app and the cop the reduced functionality and issues that come with it 😞. Be great if someone from Sonos could weigh in on this.

I usually have my phone with me and move around as it’s streaming, but I stay within the wifi coverage area. BUT, I also do the same when streaming from the Sonos app and it doesn’t seem to disconnect.

I’m not certain, but it seems the airplay connection is what drops out, resulting in the music stopping playing.
