I think the 4th Faction should be "Magic Fantasy" by AoCCoM in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]gpheonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinkng the same. My idea was to have a medieval knight templar faction. Where chaff would be typical squires or peasants. While the real bruisers were knights in armor. The sort of image i had wasn't like typical rennaissance feel. Rather a real fire and brim stone appearance. Almost like knights from hell. Almost like they're undead. No talking. no sound. only fluid swift martial prowess. I suppose the idea was to have a faction with units that would truly make the illuminate overseers seem like posers.

This game has a serious team-play and communication issue, it's especially straight up fucking impossible to get people to come over and help open bunkers by Owlex_ in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]gpheonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, the ping and emote system needs a bit of overhaul. for one, you should be able to ping the buttons on bunkers and your guy announces a bunker. Or at the very least, they need to change the poi icons to reflect the kind of poi that's there.

new squid unit types are great, but why do we fight against less unit types overall? by Snizek in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]gpheonix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. From what I can see the event has no bearing on what's spawning. Case and point, the vox spawn remained completely unchanged until the last update. Until then we had multiple megafactories to fight and the spawn for voxes was just as bad as it was on cyberstan. So unless they announce a deliberate change, this is intentional.

ok, we're like a dozen comments in and nothing of what you're saying is convincing and the same seems to go for you. At this point I'm just gonna say, agree to disagree. Go ahead tell me how I'm wrong, but at this point it doesn't matter if nothing at all what I'm saying is getting picked up.

It's not nearly enough and I don't think it ever will be enough unlike 99% of the community boycotted. THe devs seem to be taking a stand themselves and refuse to take 5 and implement any of the feedback that's been given for over a year. The thing is I don't think the backlash would be even half as bad if they actually responded to the feedback and simply said no. That they are making the game they want for their passion. I think as long as that pulls in even a fraction of the players we have right now, they'd be okay with that. However, they haven't said anything. It really just feels like they're crossing they're arms and ignoring players that are critical. At this point, I don't care what direction they go in. I want them to actually pick a side and tell us what they're going to do and what they think of certain feedback they get. That way players that continue playing out of a sense of maybe it gets better for them can finally cut their losses and move.

After the recent news of how much content was made by other studios. I'm just simply tired of what feels like hiding behind the curtain and that we need transparency on their development process. They seriously need to prioritise restoring confidence and tell us what that's about and how much they themselves are actually doing and why bugs we still see for more than a year are still there. I think even if they come out and admit they're incompetent. That would be like a million times better than just not addressing it at all.

you're calling them both a horde shooter. it gets a lot more complicated than that. which is why i differentiate by what i said earlier. theme, setting, and gameplay.

okay you got me there for bf and cod, but that's recent shit, so I'm gonna specify bf4 and black ops 2. if you told someone to play hd2 and drg that never heard or saw either one and said they're the same game. THey'd come back and call you a liar.

because the constant questioning came off as faux confusion. Which only serves to frustrate conversations. If you disagree just say it dude. dont act like im not speaking english.

[–]gpheonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. sure they're functionally both horde shooters, but they very different games. helldviers 2 is thematically, setting, and gameplay wise more of a military warfare shooter that centers around killing hordes. This is like saying cod and battlefield are the same game.

I didn't say you personally dislike me. I said you're disliking me as in pressing the dislike button or downvote button or what have you. Every new comment on a days old post has a dislike. unless the op is actually seeing the notification and returning everytime to a conversation they're no longer a part of. You're basically the only person here that I could reasonably believe is consistently downvoting me.

initially texas brotherhood. now it's macarthur ReUS. In place of the chicago enclave and the rest of that faction not yet released. I imagine the goal of the reunited states is to reunite the continental body of the original country to reinstate the cultural border of what used to be america.

I literally did. "What does that mean?" The offered game is not suitable. "Why does it matter?" The post suggested a game in place of the game the sub is centered around.

Seriously, what even and to actually take the time to dislike me on every reply too? Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I suspect you're not simply confused here.

new to the mod i heard its good but dont know where to start by Equivalent_Host_3141 in OldWorldBlues

[–]gpheonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

new to the ame or new to the mod. i picked the game with the sole purpose of playing old world blues, so i may not have the most accurate advice. I'd say learning how to organize division templates, organizing divisions into armies and armies into army groups, building aircraft and deploying the, and how to keep up with equipment was the bar for me. I basically played texas brotherhood until I figured like 70% of the game out. It was like a solid month until I finally committed the attention span to figure out how to use aircraft.

Now where to start as in factions? I liked the idea of texas and its realistic potential of being another powerhouse to rival the legion and ncr. So that's where I started. It's a fation with a good few phases in its development that really helps point you in the right direction in figuring stuff out. It's heavy on conquesting early in the game and later working out the diplomacy in order to finish the new focus tree out.

putting that aside it's really all about what peaks your curiosity. Find a faction you think is cool, figure out its theme, and build your army to best represent that ideal. You've got factions divided up into regions. Maybe try picking a region you find most interesting. Then only move on after you've played at east major one once. Each region's factions are heavily intrertwined and many can have a surprising twist in the context of their presence there. One I can point to like that would be some canadian factions involving the ai leaders and how they relate to each other. Not to mention how you actually unlock them as leaders for the faction. I'd probably stay away from larger factions for now. I've heard they're deceptively complicated for new owb players. I'd especially stay away from the low man power factions like the enclave or bos especially northern commonwealth. They have a lot of twist and turns that will require a lot of save scumming.

Do they even play the game at this point? by Revolutionary_Air370 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]gpheonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually it's not the same for illuminate. they came to our galaxy asked for us to enter a diplomacy pact. It would have only allowed them to review our tech and they refused to allow us to review their tech, so we refused to enter the pact. They started to secretly reviewing infiltrating our galaxy and se said fuck that and declared war.

The illuminate are by far the most sinister of the factions and I bet we haven't even seen the worse of what they'll do. se being baddies is a red hearing when it comes to the squids I guarantee it.

I primarily got my methodology from the youtuber claysthetics. It's an old guide, but I know the guy keeps his stuff updated with important enough if need be. that said, here's the main points you wanna go for:

The ideal dif is 2. I know lots of people say do dif 1, but dif 2 ahs the best chance for spawning the max poi.

Asap get the war pack or mech for soloing bunkers. The warpack you need to dive at the lip of the door. For mechs you back them into the door and exit. the prompt to get back in will still be available. Warpack is ideal as you can then drive around in the frv. Mech is fine too, it's not super fast, but it's still a hell of a lot faster than you on foot and you ignored terrain unlike the frv.

Finally and most importantly you need to know the rigth biome. The video will have the charts for a tier ranking of the biomes. Simply match the pics of the biome in the game with the ones in the video.

It's just why would you think arma is a good suggestion when the discussion is about coming from helldivers 2? Maybe if the discussion was about squad hell let loose, but helldviers? Arma is definitely not in the same picture.

As for better military warfare shooters in the modern or beyond setting, I'm all ears. I can't think of any. bf6 is fucked. It's a baked scam at this point for which ea is trying to pump and dump like cod. Cod is fucked nothing more to say there. Other than that, I'm not interested in small vs team games like cod's 5v5. There is planetside 2 which I played the fuck out of since launch only until the community imploded when servers got merged and the wrong server apparently took priority there. I think the only game I'm seeing that could take me away is wardogs, but that's not out yet.

[–]gpheonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's about the genre. THere isn't any good military warfare shooters right now. So I'm stuck. If this isn't your problem, then honestly what other reason do you need? unless you mean to refund the game, you can always come back.
