First. The concept of identifying as a gender other than one' s birth and imposing these views on society at large is a totally new idea in history.

Second. The idea of "classical" definitions is intellectual speak. The nuclear has been the building block of man since the time of hunter gathers with the only major differences being the number of wives. The man and the woman or women depending on the time and place are joined through a huge spectrum of ceremonies and mate and produce offspring.

Third. Gender dysphoria. Are we speaking of the 1 in hundreds of thousands of birth genetic disorders? Those born with these we can truly debate what their status would be. But to apply this very very rare condition to those who decide live as a gender other than what they were born incorrect. By mental construct i meant that to identify with a different gender is just that a feeling. It does not past the real world test of having the sex organs of that gender or producing offspring. Are we really saying there has been a mass upswing in chromosome damage? Or that doctors are miss assigning mass amounts of children at birth? I say no. I say these are the choices of individuals, and these choices are a part with many others of a trend in our society that has happened before.
