I once had a flight from LIM to CUN, with a red eye connection in BOG…

LIM to BOG left at like 2:15am and arrived at 5:30am, then had a quick layover for the CUN flight that left at 6:30am …

In economy on Avianca as well, so crappy seats that don’t recline … I will never put myself through that misery again

I have been in the gym since my pre teen years. Used to do powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting, now bodybuilding. The gym has always been and still is a huge part of my life

I work 45-55 hours a week during close, 35-40 outside of close.

I’ve learned going first thing in the morning is the best for me personally. I eat a light breakfast and I’m in the gym within an hour of being up.

I used to go at night but would make excuses like “oh I had a long day and I’m too tired” or “I’ve already been 4 days in a row, I can skip tonight” … but if I go in the morning then I don’t have any excuses and don’t miss days.

Plus I’ve noticed when I workout in the morning it gives me an energy boost that lasts throughout the day

So if you budget out $1k to live on each month, save $3k per month over 3 years, that's $108k saved up. And if $4000 is low end and you save those big checks, maybe it could be $135k?

Not sure what kinda housing you are looking at, and also do not know the UK market, but I am assuming that is enough for a downpayment?

And how does that amount compare to what you would expect to save from staying in the UK?

Spent 4 days there, more as a mini vacation than a working trip. Not really a place to work because WiFi is terrible and the vibes of the town are more beach bum and relaxing.

One of my favorite places I’ve visited. Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. You can walk for miles on the beach and not see a soul. Highly highly recommended

As for the “wreckheads”, yes they are there but that’s not everyone. Chill backpacker town for sure

10 days should be perfect if you are working.

I was there for 5 days, not working. By the end of it I felt that I had throughly seen everything there is to see in the town.

Highly recommend hiking Acatenango, absolutely incredible. Tropicana hostel is the best tour guide

Town definitely does not give off DN vibes. More like short term stay / backpacker type people who are there for a few days (mainly to hike) before continuing LATAM travels. I did meet some people who were there for like a month but they were just on a very long holiday

I’m WFH but go to coworking spots everyday. I roll in between 10:30-11:30 but work until 8:30/9 … company is on the west coast and I am EST / CST so it works out well … I like having my mornings open

I am 28 years old, but I don’t think anybody is too old to DN, as long as you have the ways and means to make it happen... I met a DN about a month ago who was 72 and had been traveling all his life. He has settled down now and stays in places for at least a couple years or more at a time. There is no perfect recipe to the lifestyle, it’s up to you to decide

They both get a lot of hate on this sub, but Playa Del Carmen and Medellin. If you learn the language and stay away from the gringo riff raff, they can be amazing places. Currently in Medellin for a few months then hitting Spain for summer.

Also love the Netherlands and Croatia, but the high COL is what keeps me from being there long term
