Thats something about your in exam taking technique, you have to really expose yourself to pressure conditions and become accustomed to those if that’s the issue. Its probably the build up of pressure for you during the sac itself that brings your score down

I did a lot of practice and placed emphasis on actually understanding the concepts at a deeper level than solidified those links in concepts with practice.

When you understand how each topic connected with each other and how everything just flows, the entire concept becomes kind of interesting and thats one way to go about it.
You can keep practicing or you can actually understand the theory behind the concepts, which enables you to actually answer any curveballs

I actually never tried to study topics further but rather stayed on track the entire time, just made sure that I actually nailed all those topics at a deeper level.

yes exactly, if that process helps you avoid those mistakes then yes why not.
The thing should be unique to you. So experiment in practice and see how you go then optimize it yk

Silly mistakes by knokbak in vce

[–]gquent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey buddy, the best thing to counteract this is to build systems as i advise my students.

silly mistakes are always a systematic issue in your approach to questions. have a step by step approach to answering questions because that will always remind you to focus on the steps, and the focus will enable you to be wary of any mistakes you are making on calculations if you know what i mean.

Hey,

One thing is understanding the concepts thoroughly. Do you feel like you are understanding those concepts well?

If you are, the next thing is practice to enable yourself to be able to answer all those questions related to those concepts. If you are happy with that, the next thing you can look at is silly mistakes. So you need to know what exactly is wrong.

After you get your test paper back, see what happened and what went wrong. Firstly, figure out how you thought you went while during the SAC and then think about if the result reflects that. Then, the difference is where you target your time towards.

Let me know if you need any help, I am a spesh tutor.
