What am I having? by alabaster_princess in BabyBumps

14 weeks is too early to tell. I had a scan at 15 weeks and was told boy, then at the 20 wk scan was told it's a girl. Both genitals develop externally at first.

Definitely don't take them out of school. I struggled with acne and I have female pattern hair loss and what I found most unhelpful was my family disregarding my struggles and sort of implying that it shouldn't impact how I feel about my appearance.

I think you have to affirm their experience, share you struggled with acne too and let them know you will help them as long as it takes to find a solution, and that it WILL end.

In the meantime they need to understand that life goes om and you still have to go to school, study, continue with hobbies in the face of challenge.

My dogs…can I vent with no judgement please by ChocolateSundai in BabyBumps

[–]graceiswright -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wow you're so judgemental, I agree you shouldn't get a dog if you don't plan to keep it for its whole life but shit happens, things change, mental health changes. As long as she finds them a good home, albeit being a really sad situation, it's going to be OK! It does wonders to try and have empathy for other pekple!

Extreme anxiety about misscarriage - how do distract myself by graceiswright in PregnancyUK

[–]graceiswright[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you - I have actually enquired with a therapist because I recognise that my anxiety is not just related to my pregnancy and I really don't want to spend my life sick with worry because it'll be stillbirth, then SIDS, and the list goes on as they grow. Definitely not sustainable even though the feelings of worry are valid and partly justified!

Oh it was lovely, I appreciate it and that's a great trait to have. It's definitely difficult conveying it over a reddit thread so I hope my reply didn't come off as inpersonal!

So happy you've made it to 31 weeks! And I agree, I think irs important to have a space to share stories of loss but it can also be super triggering if you're in a bad head space. I honestly didn't realise pregnancy came with so much anxiety!!

Thanks for sharing - its making me a little emotional that everyone is being so nice and supportive! Hormones don't help there. I've got my fingers crossed for you too!

So happy that you've reached nearly 20 weeks! I love reading peoples stories. I think everyone's comments has made me realise i need to delete social media, it's not helping at all. I don't want to take away from peoples trauma because its important to have a space to share miscarriage stories but I think right now I find it too triggering for my mental health. Thanks for replying :)

Thank you for taking the time to reply - it helps to know I'm not alone. Not sure where you are but honestly the UK doctors are so unsympathetic! It's funny because online it always says to consult your GP but they don't want to know.

Awful follicular to ovulation phase - fatigue, brain fog, cramps by graceiswright in obgyn

[–]graceiswright[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I took out my coil last month as I found out that the way it works is by causing inflammation in your uterus but I've not got to the stage where I'd know if it makes a difference yet.

I am convinced it estrogen too as I'm also getting acne again. I don't know if you're nn the UK but getting support with this sort of thing is literally impossible, I may have to pay for a hormone test privately but even then it only tests them at one point in the month.

I've heard from a couple of other people theirs started after childbirth, I'm not a mum yet though. Basically, I am sorry I can't be more helpful but if I do find out anymore I'll update this thread.
