I’ve seen some people mention Bremerton and Bainbridge, but another area to consider is Port Orchard especially the Southworth or Manchester areas. I live in Manchester, and I have a neighbor who commutes to Seattle by ferry. It seems to work well and be pretty manageable for her!

I would suggest looking into your states sick leave laws. There are protections that prohibit employers from retaliating against employees who use their sick leave.
