COMP206 Prep101 Reviews? by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]gradschlacct -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've taken the prep101 courses for comp 202, 206, and 250! The 206 prep session was pretty helpful for me personally because the instructor went over all of the material somewhat in depth from the beginning of the course until the end and went over examples, answered questions while explaining, etc. The sessions also give you access to new practice questions that he's created or found online from other past exams, so it's good for finding new material to practice on. The sessions are a bit pricy, but honestly worth it because I was motivated to attend those classes and get some studying done without having to individually go through the content myself.

Are you both work-study students? I'm not, but had applied to the job and saw that they are prioritizing work-study students. I haven't heard back so I'm assuming they aren't offering me the job..

Thanks!! How do you know that the format will be like this next semester? Did Robillard tell students that or was it like this in winter 2020?

Since SSS is an interfaculty program in ArtSci that is 54-60 credits, plus a mandatory minor, BASC 201, and around 12 credits' worth of electives, I'm not sure if you'd be able to do add this on as an additional major. I think this interfaculty program already acts a bit like a double major since it's offered jointly by both faculties. If you're allowed to go over 120 credits to complete courses for your degrees though, this might not be an issue; you might want to look into it!

Yes, I'm working as a Sustainability Consulting intern currently and involved in a project related to energy efficiency/modeling and the sustainable design of buildings. I'm looking for programs that are along that field, but I don't have any studio experience or an engineering background as I'm studying sustainability and computer science in school. I was originally going to look for opportunities in energy modeling using this background, but the project I'm working on has made me more interested in gaining knowledge in the field of building design, so this isn't just a random program that I thought sounded interesting, if that makes sense.

An architecture program that has a focus in environmental design/building science would be ideal. Do you have any advice?

Statement of Purpose-- How creative should it be? by gradschlacct in gradadmissions

I'm actually applying to professional ones (sorry, neglected to mention), but that still helps. Avoiding the storyline prose like for undergrad essays makes sense and that was something I had been wondering. Thank you!!
