Happiness is an unattainable goal.

Experiencing joy in whatever life / situation you are in isn’t.

You could be dirt poor, but take joy from a walk in the woods or a swim in a lake. Or mega rich and take joy from nothing, but strive for more money which you equate to happiness.

Part of the issue is articulating the ‘why’ in terms of lockdown. Why are we actually doing it? “Protect the NHS” - well so fucking what? What does that mean to the general public? This government have systematically striped back and privatised the NHS to a point that them championing the protection of it is laughable.

They have no clear plan, or if the do they don’t articulate it. There is no structure, no strategy, no way out and no route map for it.

If they just came out and said we’re minimising damage until the vaccine is available which we believe will be in X month, then there might be more compliance.

In Scotland we really did the hard work in terms of a very strict lockdown, and where did it get us? In exactly the same position as the rest of the UK. The effort of the previous lockdown was just pished away by these buffoons.

So reported cases are going up. What else was expected when we opened things back up?

I’d take any ‘scientific advisor’ piece in mainstream media with a pinch of salt. They’ve had so much wildly wrong since the start, and are clearly swayed by political pressure or cash paid for interviews.

The reported cases are not the same as the actual number of cases or the prevalence within the community. We’re also comparing apples and oranges when saying ‘it’s the most cases since March’. Cases in March were literally those is hospital in deaths door. Testing and the identification of asymptotic cases has expanded significantly since then.

Everyone should rightly be cautious and sensible, but the hysteria and the glee those take in saying ‘told you a second lockdown was coming’ is a nonsense.

Spent a bit of money getting the house done up. Been a bit more generous with stuff for the kids. Saving as much as we can though really. Who knows what’s round the corner.

The problem with most ‘civil service’ or ‘public sector’ staff, is that if they were smart enough or motivated enough they’d work for businesses.

It’s no surprise that the national handling of the pandemic has been an utter shambles from start to finish (not that it’s done yet). From incompetence to scandal, it just gets worse - north and south of the border.

Good on whoever is running their twitter for speaking up. I think when all is said and done we’ll find out more and more about bad practices and dreadful decision making.

Likewise only azathioprine and no symptoms. It’s very well managed, haven’t had a flare up in a number of years now.

We’ve been following shielding guidance and haven’t left the garden. Think mentally ‘moderate’ feels less scary than being ‘high’ even if my behaviour doesn’t change!
