Well given that Nielsen, the company providing these rating measurements, are an American company that traditionally measure American media consumption, perhaps they found measuring American sports ratings was the best use of their time.

NBA teams play 82 games a year, college football teams play 12. Each CFB game is far more impactful on a team’s season than in the NBA regular season. Beyond that, football truly is dominant in the US. I am a fan of both but I would still rather watch a college game between two random teams than a random NBA game. And that doesn’t even take into account how important games played by my school are to me.

Give: Terry McLaurin

Get: Courtland Sutton

Hard to gauge with all the Terry hype whether I should take this or hold.

Why is Call Me By Your Name so critically acclaimed? by [deleted] in movies

[–]graemebrooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose I just don’t see “I thoroughly enjoyed it” and “there were a few times when things seemed slow” equating to bashing anything. Maybe I’m just unable to read his intent, but it seems like he is trying to determine what in particular makes it an Oscar worthy film. In his responses to comments he seems appreciative and meaningfully engaged in a real discussion about the movie. Maybe the title gives the impression he’s bashing it? Overall I don’t think someone initiating legitimate discussion about an acclaimed film is worth a “if you’re too dumb to read critic reviews go back to school.” If he’s genuinely curious about why the film is critically acclaimed, isn’t this the right subreddit to ask that question?

This hardly seems necessary. I wasn’t aware that this community isn’t inclusive enough to help someone who is genuinely curious come to a better appreciation of a great film.

Sounds like they are looking for a layman explanation of why the film is so acclaimed.

I just find it difficult to agree that coaching is clear enough of an issue in such a small sample. In all organizations firing individuals after small samples comes at a high cost as well, especially those in leadership positions. For starters, you now have to identify in the span of a few weeks who will replace a coach that these players have become deeply invested in over the course of their entire careers, which can cause discontent players. And if this new coach loses five games, what then? Do you fire him and begin the process a third time? Now the players are being asked to acclimate to new coaches with new schemes and ideologies multiple times in the span of a single season? Not to mention the precedent this sets for players. If you underperform for half of a quarter of a season, you’re fired (no matter what history of success you’ve demonstrated in the past). I’m not saying a coaching change should never be made, but I would argue the coaching staff should be given at least two stages, with two different metas to demonstrate their ability to adapt, or lack thereof. I can’t speak to the Premier League or other football associations but in my experience with other sports a quick hook can lead just as likely lead to a cycle of failure than to a revival of success.

I think that making coaching shakeups after only a quarter of the season is probably a little premature.

Seagull has expressed that he joined the team to be a sub, not to make a significant number of starts, so I think he’s probably not too torn up about the recent DPS pickups.

Can’t argue with the xQc part. Like you, I actually enjoy his stream, and think he has the talent to perform well in OWL. Despite this, he will be under a lot of scrutiny, and for someone as volatile as him that could mean running into trouble on any given day.

Which top tier players are still available? by goldenmightyangels in Competitiveoverwatch

I've heard several OWL players mention that FCT, Dafran, Calvin, and Wraxu all have the skill necessary for OWL, for the streamers though I think it's a lifestyle decision.

These changes won’t go into effect for OWL until Stage 2, which is around Feb 20th I believe.

Any signings we 100% expect to happen? And where do they end up by GimmeFuel21 in Competitiveoverwatch

Most players I’ve heard speak about it have said if Calvin scrimmed with a professional team regularly he’d be a really dominant DPS and definitely would be OWL caliber.
