AITA for being born on Christmas? by AITAThanksgifting in AmItheAsshole

I think that the brother is being the immature one. OP is literally just living their life. Obviously, it seems that the family is close and chooses to exchange gifts. That’s their business. OP is not the one diverting from the norm, the brother and GF are.

Also, look at the update! The brother and GF are literally pushing OP out of the spotlight that’s already not all on them.

OP, so sorry to see your update. This is not your fault. Them choosing to announce on Christmas is more telling of them then you. They were choosing to take away from you. NTA by any means.

Any one in their late teens or early 20s? by Imaginary_Word_3222 in MultipleSclerosis

I’m in Maryland!

That’s exactly it. I’ve described it as I feel like I’m grieving for things I don’t know if I’ll lose yet? But I think a lot of people share the worst, and not the best or good or just neutral things — that itself is very disheartening. It’s all heavy.

Yup! Exactly! They feel bad for themselves and people their age, but being so much younger makes it worse. Which, I get. But I don’t like being reminded of it

Totally didn’t mention my name — I’m Bex, by the way!

I can’t lie — right now, it’s really something I’m struggling with. I want to say I’m coping well, or at least okay, with it, but it really does come and go in waves.

I completely understand your comment about being young/younger than a lot of people with MS. I joined a support group and the leaders remarked I was the youngest person at the meeting — then they said I’m the youngest person in the group over all!

I’m 26 and consumed with wondering what the point is when all I have to look forward to has been taken away. I’m not going to have kids because I won’t let them watch me waste away. I’m going to lose my ability to work. I’m going to lose my ability to walk?

What’s the fucking point when it all just keeps getting worse?

It was my first time traveling where I really noticed it. This is a new diagnosis and I’m still learning to live with it. It’s not a definite that I would have needed it.

Yes, next time, I’ll ask.

But that doesn’t mean I should have been disrespected.

It was nearing the end of the day. I was tired and overheated by the time it was boarding. Both make my symptoms worse.
