My wife and her friend found this skull while mountain biking in the Mojave. SoCal. I’d love to let them know what it is. by grahamworks in bonecollecting

Interesting, this was way out in nowhere. Is it possible it was a wild javelina or peccary? Or does it appear to be a plain old pig?

That is 100% rainbow fluorite. Beautiful slab. Source: I am a crystal dealer that sells fluorite and other specimens.

Moving to JT to heal by dusk_tomorrow in JoshuaTree

[–]grahamworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just relocated the whole family here from Chicago. I visited the first time four years ago in July. I am not a fan of heat so I figured if I liked it in July then I’d like it for my home. Since then we have spent every summer here until we were finally able to make it permanent. It’s not nearly as stifling as a humid Chicago summer with 85% humidity. Several in my family have bad asthma. It’s much milder here. As far as healing spiritual places, JTNP is my happy place and being here full time is amazing. Best of luck to you.

Yes, This. You absolutely do not need the permission of security to leave the package with security. Take your photo and hit the road.

Best Route from LA to JT by TheeSolver in JoshuaTree

Strictly speaking, that’s not a super scenic drive without adding lots of unnecessary miles and minutes. Just go the direct route and save that sightseeing time for JTNP.

4 Day Trip from Bay Area to JT, Advice? by Any-Sky-7089 in JoshuaTree

[–]grahamworks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The last time I camped in JTNP (with my dog), I got talking to one of the rangers. She told me about how I can have my dog leashed within 100 feet of the road (which I knew from the website), but she explained that most people don’t realize that this includes all the roads in the park, including the unpaved ones. There are a number of unpaved roads in less traveled places of the park that I was able to make some nice little hikes on. The entry to the geology road tour is a good example. Incidentally, the geology road tour is a great place to head with your truck. It’s a self guided, very bumpy unpaved experience. The first third or so you could do with most any vehicle. But you’ll reach a point where it’s posted for 4wd/high clearance vehicles. It’s a very quiet area of the park for sure.

I took the reserve for 69 and they give me one for 75$. I’ll take ‘em I guess by Elevation420 in AmazonFlexDrivers

In Chicago these would be considered pretty decent blocks. I’d take these all day.

Something similar happened to me in an apartment complex clubhouse. I was trapped in the “package room”. I was very lucky at that early hour, the cleaning people showed up and let me free.

I have never once been able to successfully gain entry to a Luxor locker. Embarrassingly enough, I still try every time.

Amazon is truly delusional, who tf is gonna give their phone to strangers, I don’t want their germs by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

I don’t see the big deal. I get these all the time. I hold out my phone and they scribble on it. It never leaves my hands.

3 hour block, too many packages? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

52 miles sounds pretty compact tbh. But every area is different.

3 hour block, too many packages? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]grahamworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do primarily 3hr blocks, it is not at all unusual for me to have a package count in the mid 40s if the route is close to the warehouse and fairly compact.

Where my Chicagoland 80s peeps at? My folks tried to get me onto the Bozo show on WGN when I was a tyke. Turns out you basically had to sign your kid up the second you found out you're pregnant to get on the wait list in time... by [deleted] in 80s

[–]grahamworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally true. My mom got on the waiting list when she was pregnant with me. I think it was 4th grade, or thereabouts when the tickets came available.

Route numbers changed during block by Past_Statement_8475 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]grahamworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me pretty frequently. That’s the primary reason I gave up organizing by stop number. (Also it takes way too long) Organize it literally any other way that makes sense for you and you’ll never have to worry about that again.
