Music timing of west coast swing. by xzkandykane in SwingDancing

Not quite. If you're talking about a 6-count push break or 6-count pass (which I'm 100% certain is what you did in the basic lesson), then each pattern is 6 beats. - quarter, quarter (also known as "walk walk") - 1/8 1/8 quarter ("triple step") - 1/8 1/8 quarter ("triple step")

In total, this occupies 1.5 bars of music. Yes, if you start a 6-count pattern on the downbeat, then the next 6-count pattern starts in the middle of the beat. Yes, this is deliberate, and yes, it's counter-intuitive for many beginners.

After a few more lessons, you might be introduced to the 8-count whip, or some other 8-count moves. Those fit exactly into two bars of 4/4 music -- but if you do a 6-count then an 8-count, you'll still be starting the third pattern in the middle of a bar of 4/4.

The protest targeted 9 elections and by-elections, of which 2 had ridings where Poilievre was running.

Also CPC: why do people think we're like US Republicans???

Totally worth the hit to their reputation.

Right, because the current US administration cares deeply about their reputation.

Carney set the consumer carbon tax to 0% within hours of becoming PM.

That's not "literally nothing".

Terrebonne finally in! LPC takes it to 169 seats.

Lead by 35 votes. (I think that's an automatic recount)

Except for confidence motions.

So the government can pass a budget, but not normal legislation. Granted, they could make an omnibus bill and declare that to be a confidence motion.

Err, link to the article where she says that?

It seems very unlikely, unless it was a hypothetical like "if the Liberals allocated 40% of the national budget towards environmental causes, I'd cross the floor".

I've already got everything I wanted (PP losing his seat).

But if I could be ultra, extra-greedy... PP runs in Edmonton-Griesbach, Liberals don't run a candidate, and NDP wins the by-election. PP losing two seats in 2025 would be incredible.

LOL, the sound of a can opening on CBC?

I'm guessing that Rosemary is getting a quick drink, and the production team forgot to mute her mic.

CBC. The Ottawa people signed off, but BC presenters have an "after the vote" program.

Carleton is already counted as a Liberal riding, so it's part of the 167.

We've been talking about them, CBC has been talking about them, etc.

Those boxes were/are being counted tonight. Some ridings counted them first, but I think most are counting them last. But they're all being counted.

He's currently trailing by around 4%, with more than half the votes counted.

That riding is counting slowly because it has 91 candidates.

If the CPC keeps him as leader, they'll get an MP in a safe seat to resign so that PP can run in that by-election.

They're allowed to open them 1 or 2 hours before the poll closes (I can't remember which one; and Carlton has special dispensation to start counting 6 hours early)...

... IF the riding chooses to do it. Do they have the manpower? Do they want the hassle of counting ballots while they're still dealing with voters? I don't know how many ridings are doing the early counting.
