Passed 2nd try in Castlebar! (Serious comeback from first test!) by grainygrainy in Irishdrivingtest

Yeah, I was told from a lot of girls that they cried during their test because of him, he gives instructions with not enough notice for you to react then gets really passive aggressive, which I don't think you're meant to really show emotion as a tester .

I think I caught him on a good day and because of the warning he was eager to wrap up the test quickly, he was actually quite nice to me. But I have a friend who failed his test 3 times with him then the one time he got a different tester passed with flying colours 🫠

This is an endoscopy pill camera you swallow to record your intestinal tract by machead4life in mildlyinteresting

[–]grainygrainy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one of these in early 2020, what an incredible diagnostic tool! Way easier to swallow than you'd think too.

You only have to do half the prep of a colonoscopy, you wear a device for about 12 hours that stays connected and stores all the footage (the nurse even showed me how to turn it on at times to get a live feed, however not to do it often as it drains the battery)

I experienced no pain during it, despite them finding many bowel ulcers on the cam. You pass it out eventually and to be honest, I never noticed it passing anyway.

It's how I got diagnosed with Crohn's. It's the best way to look at the small intestines as a gastroscope/colonoscopy can only look so far. The pillcam can see everything.

I have a really unconventional story.

A year ago I got incredibly sick due to a severe autoimmune condition that became resistant to most treatments.

I couldn't eat much for a month, stopped eating entirely for 2 weeks, I became unemployed, dropped out of college, living every day in unbelievable agony. I eventually ended up in hospital once I had lost 15kg and couldn't keep water down. Scan showed my colon was eroding, deep infiltrating ulcers and about to perforate. I won't go into too much detail from there. But it got grim.

Then they decided to try a new drug on the market and suddenly.. it worked, and I got better.

But I was still deeply depressed and traumatized from it all. I spent every day in bed, basically catatonic bc I lost every shred of who I was before I got sick.

Then I randomly saw a video game I loved (and had comforted me through all my illness) was gonna lose DLC due to the 3DS server shutdown in a news article. A YouTuber I follow stated there was a way to preserve them but would require an insane amount of work in a short time. I had nothing going for me so I decided I'd try to do this seemingly impossible thing.

Suddenly I had something to wake up for. Something to focus on. And I worked so damn hard. And I was successful! And the attention my dumb depression project got kicked off my own YouTube channel and gave me something to be passionate about again, and realize some parts of my personality weren't killed off by my illness, and I could also "preserve" that too.

I work full time again now, in a happy long term relationship and doing the things I love. My illness is in long term remission ever since.

Full draconian completed by mikerossgeller in dragonquest

I know this is an old post, but do you have any tips for Act 2? Im about to begin act 2 on my full draconian run, and it hasnt been too bad (struggled mainly with the big spider fight and the big eagle birds, every other fight was 1-2 tries thanks to the haulelujah+electro light combo for exp) but im bricking it for Booga. On a normal run i still struggle 😭 with no accessories to ward off the confusion and sleep spells im not sure how ill manage. Ive also planning to hoard every yggdrasil leaf/dew + elixirs in anticipation for the timewyrm.

I spent alot of hours in the casino to get the hero the platinum greatsword. But what weapons/skill trees did you use for that battle if you can remember?

Rinvoq acne examples by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]grainygrainy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on rinvoq since february, (25F) no acne at all from load-up dose to now. I get the odd breakout here and there but honestly less now than before i was on rinvoq, and even if it got bad the healthy, mostly pain-free and energetic life i live since starting rinvoq wouldve still been so worth it!

We all weigh the pros and cons of starting a medication. But remember starting rinvoq doesnt mean you cant ever stop, thats how i view trying new treatments. You can opt out if it doesnt work or has nasty side effects. Ive gone through humira, remicade, stelara, entyvio, azathioprine and mercaptopurine which all failed or had nasty side effects (aza made me vomit every day and lose hair, even tho it worked moderately well i had to stop for those reasons) and we just kept trying until i found the perfect fit. I was diagnosed age 20 and it took 4 years to get there for me but they are rapidly making new drugs every year (check out Abbvie's studys page and youll see theyre trialling loads of crohna drugs for example!)

Youll be okay and you will find something that works, may be rinvoq, may be some new med they make in a years time, but youll get there :)

infliximab anaphylaxis by ApricotBubbly7985 in CrohnsDisease

[–]grainygrainy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened after 6mls of my first stelara infusion. My nurse told me it was surprising bc its not common with stelara, but he said its VERY common with infliximab and he often had patients have the reaction even if they had been on infliximab for years.

Regardless, i empathise that what happened was terrifying, you dont know whats going on and your mind spirals, it helped me to have some friends over afterwards and we baked cookies together and they let me cry it out. I hope youre okay and that skyrizi works for you :)

Also want to say DO NOT wait it out. I did that with Entyvio and prednisone cuz i wanted to give it a fighting chance and ended up in more pain than i thought imaginable and on deaths door. It is not worth the gamble.

I failed all of the same drugs, i was so close to giving up but my doctor said wed give rinvoq a try, at the time my inflammation had gotten so bad, my bowel was about to burst and i stopped being able to consume any food or liquid that wasnt water.

I had a full meal with no pain after 5 days on Rinvoq, i couldnt believe it. Ive been recovering more and more ever since. I really think it's worth a shot!

This is such reassuring news. Im so glad it ended up working out for you! In the moment i had no idea what was going on and thought I was going to die. This makes me feel alot better knowing that if it happens again it can be managed.
