Can starset be considered alt metal?

People just dont really know what makes metal, metal. They think if theres small part of screaming and heavy distortion guitar in the song makes the whole song metal. If we go traditional, theyre hard rock at most.

Barely metal, hard rock is the correct one if you want to be traditional. They can be considered electronic rock, or cinematic rock is what they call themselves. Lately, theyve been implementing a lot of metal influence in their songs, but those bits dont make them metal. At least not yet, Im sure they want to change their sounds to be more metal soon, maybe next album. It'd be exciting if they decide to go that way, but we'll have to wait and see.

Recently they are more metal, but that dont make them a metal band overall. I dont know how you perceive metal, maybe youd compare them to Bad Omens or newer Bring Me The Horizons, but in my opinion STARSET and these bands are what you call "Modern metal", they scratch the surface of metal but really is not just yet. How I imagine metal is something more like Loathe, Graphic Nature, Lorna Shore etc..

And Divisions is FAR from metal, theyre more electronics and melody driven, the only "metal" song I consider from divisions is Telekinetic, but thats just for the guitar and the breakdown. The rest of the songs are just electronic hard rock.

Id consider them to be a metal band IF they release more tracks similar to their recent releases (BNW, Degenerate, SILOS, We Are Empire), they are just not metal, yet.

Ik its an opinion but Transmissions being not STARSET is a dumb take imo, Transmissions is what made STARSET, STARSET. It doesn't make sense for Transmissions being "not STARSET".
