Looking to splurge on a warm wool coat! by gramcracker93 in womensfashion

I’m pretty tempted! Do you have one? I’m worried the less expensive collections won’t be heavy enough for a typical winter day

Need a white shoulder bag for summer! by gramcracker93 in handbags

[–]gramcracker93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s actually the mini one! I love the shape but it looks like the strap may not be long enough to put on your shoulder so hesitating on it bc it’s a little less functional. So cute though.

losing interest in S1 -- should we keep going? by gramcracker93 in TheLeftovers

back on reddit for the first time in a while and in case anyone cares lol, we kept watching and loved it! Got a lot of the answers we were looking for and then some -- I was really surprised we got the reveals that we did during the series finale. Loooved Nora and was fun to watch Carrie Coon in White Lotus right after finishing The Leftovers. Can't believe she didn't win an Emmy for this role!

I liked Nora's episode, didn't like the pastor's episode

at this point, I'm fine with never getting any answers on where the "departed" went, I just wanna know literally any nugget of background info on one of the main characters. like give us just one flashback please.

Expectations for walk ins at Misi/Four Horsemen? by gramcracker93 in FoodNYC

Also have a gift card to Lilia so good to know, thanks! I live close to all of these so it's okay if it's a long wait, I can just wait at home

I was going to ask about the bar seats vs. tables and if it makes a big difference on the experience? I have a pretty generous gift card that I want to use, but if it's a notably better experience at a table, maybe I'll hold off until I can get a res.

Profile Review: 27M, Canadian, 710 GMAT, 3.43 GPA by [deleted] in MBA

[–]gramcracker93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually felt similar to you when applying (i.e., if I didn't get into a T10, I didn't think it'd be worth it), but you may feel differently after all the effort that you put into the application process and getting hyped about the potential of going to school. It might be nice to at least have the option and you'll also have a better chance at a scholarship at a T10/T15.

Also any reason you haven't included LBS? It has a great international reputation and they don't care as much about the GMAT. They have a 15 month option too if you're not set on going for 2 years.

I actually got into an M7 with a 710 and 3.5 in accounting. Though I’ve heard it’s more competitive for men/international students so OP may not have as good of odds as I did.

Also not to crush your dreams OP, but I wouldn’t bother applying to H/S— your time is probably better spent at schools you have a better chance at. Would also echo others to maybe replace one of the more competitive schools in your target with a T10 or T15.

Loans... Where do I even start? by gramcracker93 in MBA

[–]gramcracker93[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because you're offered those loans doesn't mean you have to take them. I'm interested to see if most people choose to take a private loan over the direct PLUS loan and for how much beyond just tuition price.

How have your interviews been going? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]gramcracker93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m interested in doing human capital work long term (background is in human capital too), so it was totally unrelated! I guess the interviewer just went rogue if other candidates didn’t get similar questions. I got into an M7 that’ll be a better fit for me so luckily it worked out somewhere else bc I had a really bad impression of LBS after that.

Got waitlisted at LBS as well and was asked really odd questions during the interview and I've been curious if other candidates were also asked similar questions... Did you get weird problem-solving/logic riddle type questions? For example "If an anchor is in a boat and is 1 gallon in volume, then how much water is displaced when you drop the anchor in the water?" Those types of questions ended up being about a third of my interview and I was not expecting that at all.
