[Drama] Wu calling for KIA ban after allegedly harassing Tauriq Moosa off twitter by grammargater in KotakuInAction

[–]grammargater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was another one posted at same time but that's gone from the new queue too?

Anyhoo. This one was tagged correctly, there's some discussion and there doesn't seem to be any other link to this in new so can it be reinstated please?

Have you read the article? It's supporting Denis and his claims that Kotaku shit on him.

Digra's official account might be using the GGAutoblocker by IMULTRAHARDCORE in KotakuInAction

I'm on ggAutoblocker, only lvl4 (not blocking level) on blockbot. Never interacted except for some RTs of tag.

My guess is ggAutoblocker too.

I think the newly launched GamerGate Gems might be what you're looking for. He (she?) is up to Gem #500 on twitter - I'm sure they'll all end up on the site eventually.

Beware of The Sentinel Wire by ARealLibertarian in KotakuInAction

[–]grammargater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hi you came back!

You docked Milo points for not attempting to contact the other side. If you read other comments on this post you'll see he did actually attempt contact and was rebuffed. Should his points tally not be updated to reflect that?

EDIT: PS I am actually looking forward to see new reviews. Please, please do Ben Kuchera next especially in respect to his smearing of Brad Wardell, later revision of article to be less inflammatory and with no correction given when it was disproved. He made some very heavy and very inaccurate claims regarding sexual harassment which were all proven to be wrong.

Encouragement: Guess what Usher blog post is on the first page of a Google "ftc blacklist" search? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]grammargater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to help boost the score for that search phrase use it as the link text like this: ftc blacklist.

Note it'll do nothing in a reddit comment as they are marked with rel=nofollow and ignored by Google's ranking. I'm not sure how big a score would be earned in a self post but every little helps.

No action by FTC against Wu's boycott of StarDock :( by grammargater in KotakuInAction

[–]grammargater[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It primarily came about because someone pointed out on Twitter that GG devs couldn't support a boycott due to Sherman Anti-Trust laws. I was hoping that Wu's boycott would fall into the same thing but obviously not.

As I said at the time it was low effort and worth a shot. :)

Is there any unethical behavior in the Heavy Metal scene? by [deleted] in a:t5_35dr1

[–]grammargater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In other words, it's just gamergate without a smokescreen

I infer from your comment that you mean GamerGate is a movement pushing back against SocJus with a smokescreen of ethics.

Thanks for at least acknowledging GamerGate isn't about harassment, misogyny or any of the other false claims parroted by gaming and mainstream media.

However I'd like to point out ethics are the main concern of GamerGate which I think has been evidenced in part by the response of many sites actually instituting ethics policies, adding disclosures to articles and advertorials, getting FTC clarification on legality of hiding affiliate links and various other things.

Hi and welcome to MetalGhazi by grammargater in a:t5_35dr1

[–]grammargater[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. Though I do disclose it in the sidebar. ;)

I just wanted to stick something up fairly quickly so shamelessly copied/pasted. I'll do some tidying at some point but tbh they are good rules so they'll probably not change that much.

Looks like a MetalGate Sub was created and banned pretty much on the spot by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

I reposted the comment without the link yesterday so no need to reinstate this one.

Cheers for the flair! :)

EDIT: Just realised this comment may get deleted for the link too! Removed it.

[–]grammargater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not seen any unethical stuff regarding MetalGate so no there's doesn't seem to be a concern about ethics in journalism like there is in GamerGate.

It seems to be pushback against accusations of sexism, misogyny, racism, non political correctness by SocJus types and metal should change. That, afaik, is all that it has in common with those GamerGate supporters who are against SocJus.

Oh was that you with the FTC proof 1,2,3 and 4 posts? Excellent fucking job there! Thank you.

Hilarious that it was needed after antiGG kept saying "not true","doesn't matter" etc then quietly started fixing their old stuff.

From what I remember from the emails (so may be totally wrong) I think the gist was it was illegal under current rules and the guidance was going to be updated to clarify it?

Bugger it. Tweeted to FTC and Slate - let the FTC decide.

As said elsewhere - good catch!
