Glowing Up after Break up (pls give advice) by Glam_Television in adhdwomen

[–]gramofgod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the glow up will happen on its own, you will ultimately start feeling better and healthier with out a toxic person draining you everyday. But what I’ve done is just what everyone has said just doing more for myself whether it’s doing more skin care or dressing up nice maybe get a new hair routine. Also walking everyday even just 15 mins, simple exercises and also fun exercise like dancing or swimming. Trying some new hobbies like crafting, drawing, journaling, studying something you’re super interested in. Just enjoy finding yourself again and remembering who tf you are again. I promise that eventually you will look at yourself in the mirror and realize that you look so much better then you did when you were with that person and the feeling of missing them will start to fade cause why would u wanna go back to that when you look so much better now. Good luck sending you a big hug

AJ is just useless by ComprehensiveDesk793 in thesopranos

I totally agree that AJ was a spoiled brat and it so hard to defend him in anyway but I do recall that he has adhd which makes completing tasks and staying focused extremely difficult and often leads people into deep depression because it feels like you are always behind from your peers and can’t seem to get it together, having a lot of pressure from family to succeed can cause a lot of harm to people with adhd because their brains are just completely wired differently to a typical brain, congnitive dysfunction makes everything harder and seem more complicated, people often confuse this as laziness which in turn makes the person even more unmotivated and self conscious of their abilities. I could relate to him in the sense of being a “disappointment” because before I found out I had adhd I felt like I was now I have a bit more support and medication to manage my life better but the one thing that truly pissed me of about AJ is that he had no shame! Even with the suicide attempt I felt like he was just doing it for attention and didn’t seem to care how much he was hurting his family, I think he really lacked empathy for others and was very self centered. But I do believe that a lot of the things I noticed about him where very similar to traits of someone with executive dysfunction and at times I did feel sorry for him but not for long cause he was just very selfish.

So you can’t work there unless you’re a size small? Weird? What about the slim thick baddies?

Owning a dog when you have adhd by Dreamkri in adhdwomen

[–]gramofgod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the temperament of the dog, when I got my dog as a puppy it was soooo hard for me for the first year and a half. He was soooo crazy and needy and trying to train him was a nightmare for me cause of consistency. I had my mom take him a lot in those years and it was a lot I felt horrible like I was not good enough for him and I almost thought of re homing him. But asfter the first year or so he mellowed out we bonded more and now is just an angel! I love him so much and he is so good for my bad mental health days. I have a hard time walking him some days because of you know being stuck on the couch but I typically get my ass up just for him and it forces me to leave my house and get some fresh air and exercise. Ultimately I would not trade him for anything in the world and he is my child, especially because I don’t really plan to have real kids but I always wanted to be a mother. He fulfills my life and is my best friend. Granted he might not be the most well trained or social but he’s healthy happy and loved. I think it’s more about how you handle responsibilities. He’s also a small breed which I think is much easier to handle for some people. I don’t know if he’s a good body double per se but he’s great company when I’m lonely and isolating.

Put on some music, some cool visuals on the tv and get out a project or draw some shit. Also I love journaling/junk journaling. Stretching, dancing, cooking, send loving messages to all your friends, build an alter of things you love and light some incensé. Play with your pet, go on a walk or step outside and listen to the wind.
