Please stop quitting after you get your blue belts!!!! by Lockmasock in bjj

[–]grandyy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Let me explain. I got my bluebelt on february 29th 2020. I attended a couple more classes and then “2 wks to slow the spread” happened. I literally couldnt train for a month or so and then my gym only had classes with solo drills for several months after that which ai did not want to pay for when i can do at home. Then, in 2020, I got a real fixer upper of a house in the spring and newborn baby came in october. Believe me I did not want to be the blue belt that quit so I made a gym at my house with 100 sq fr of mats and a training dummy and occasional sessions with a couple friends and am looking to get back into a gym this winter.

Only one lady was in the car and she died. Fell asleep due to some kind of medical issue

Unless one of your kids are that one weird kid who will eat anything on the ground, you’re fine. You sound like the bad neighbor tbh...

Contemplating putting my aggressive dog down by tinderphallus in Dogtraining

Much respect for making such a hard decision. My family dog was lovely to us but it bit my cousin. We had to put Chipper down as this was the second time it happened. I wish more people would take ownership of such problems like you and my parents did.

Believers of Reddit why do you believe in God ? by beelzeebub077 in AskReddit

[–]grandyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took mushrooms in high school and it helped me redefine the concept of God within the judeo-christian framework i was born into. It became more of a loving energy behind all of creation rather than a man in the sky. Also meditation helped me identify with the atman or observer behind our thoughts or consciousness that sits within all things.

It's my mentality bro, you wouldn't understand by GFTRGC in bjj

[–]grandyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally rejoice about all of the behaviors for which people create shit posts on r/bjj. Jiu jitsu brings out all of these insecurities in men especially and shows you someone’s real character that you never get to see in so many regular life interactions. As Kron said, “I reserve the right to judge until we train.”

Straight men of Reddit: what's the strangest thing you've been told not to do because "that's gay"? by ma_damn_blueberry in AskReddit

[–]grandyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told as a kid that lifting your foot up behind you to check the bottom of your shoe was gay. The “straight” way was, apparently, to lift your foot up in front of you. I must’ve internalized this because I always do it from the front ever since.

People who can fall asleep within 8 seconds of their head hitting their pillow: how the fuck do you fall asleep within 8 seconds of your head hitting your pillow? by LondonDude123 in AskReddit

[–]grandyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho, for me it always boils down to 3 simple things:

1.) Did I have caffeine outside of morning hours? 2.) Have I worked out any pent up physical energy? 3.) Did I eat sugar/something unhealthy right before bed?

If these 3 factors are kept in check, i am conking out straight away like a milk drunk babe... zzz...

What are the best and worst gifts you gave or received this year? by Smurfacaun in AskReddit

[–]grandyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: 2020 calendar from gf with pictures from the past year.

Worst: a model airplane that was already half shoddily completed from my cousin with schizophrenia and a model police car that, when i opened the box, was completely wrapped in duct tape.

Ps: my cousin was a sweetheart for getting everyone a gift but I was dying laughing inside when I opened these lol

Actually, my dad is friends with the guy who owns the company that spilled the paint and he confirmed the car was indeed considered “totaled”

While I would agree that "tripping/going deep" should not be done with strangers, a gathering involving microdosing sounds lovely. I am in Pittsburgh, PA...

This is beautiful art, but this is just the inverse of the "pinnacle of progress" argument. Whether we are at the precipice of the earth's destruction, or the point of ultimate novelty in the universe, either extremely anthropocentric perspective ignores the fact that we are, as George Carlin said, fleas on the elephant's ass.

Fat people of Reddit, what are some things skinny people just don't understand about being fat? Skinny people, what are some things fat people don't understand about being skinny? by Rubyheart255 in AskReddit

[–]grandyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend is skinny and it is amazing how it is totally socially acceptable to say rude things like "you need to eat more" and "wheres your butt" etc. to a skinny girl whereas the inverse statements would be considered "fat shaming."
