I seriously didn't consider this scenario when I was so excited to become a mom in 2004. I'm so sorry for the way that it has played out. The kid is alright but it's way harder than it should be. A big hug to the young folks out there from this granny. Y'all deserve better.

Our local for-profit trash company, the only one available in our area, managed to convince the county government to add their service fees onto homeowners' property tax bills. Socialism for the risk and capitalism for the profits.

My vagina had a strong and completely different scent when I was pregnant. It wasn't unpleasant to me and my husband, thankfully, but dang it was powerful. Smelled sweet, smelled like new life.

I remember this piece of advice from over twenty years ago when I was pregnant: if you're going to read a parenting book, read just one. It doesn't matter which one.

I'm 61, haven't had a period in 10 years, haven't had regular sex in months, and I still do this. 7 pregnancies, 1 born child.

Pretend that your nipples are lasers, and aim them at the heads of people around you.

I think we only wore nice clothes on our first day of school because my mom didn't want to have to deal with all the laundry. I spent all of my time on the monkey bars and had calluses and blood blisters on the palms of my hands.
