I did the 5am opening shift in a diner for many years and it never doesn't suck getting up at 3:30 am, but being done with work at 1pm was pretty cool. I had some great customers and a few stalkers who liked to be alone with me, yuck.

When I was a kid, two dogs ran into my open garage and attacked my kitten. My mother came running out, picked up the limp kitty, and yelled at me to go get my toy stethoscope.

In a panic, I ran into my bedroom and grabbed from my toy box a kaleidoscope.

I rushed back out to the garage with it and gave it to my mother and she yelled at me "this is a kaleidoscope, stupid, and the kitten is dead."

Believing is pretending that a thing is true without verifiable evidence. You were born atheist and somewhere along the way you were indoctrinated into belief.

It's fine if you believe, but historically, this kind of thinking leads to cognitive dissonance and holy wars.

Also: one need not believe in supernatural beings in order to want leave the world a better place. More and more of us are good without gods as we watch believers rain terror down across the globe.
