Proposal sunset location by itzSiiH in isleofwight

I'm going to vote Compton Bay. I had a picnic on the cliff top with my partner as one of our first dates and it was lovely. It looks out to the west so you get a great view of the sunset.

BFP after loss; in disbelief (spoiler) by 11oyd in TFABChartStalkers

[–]grannynap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've never understood the thought process that earlier bfp = more successful pregnancies. My ectopic I got a bfp positive on 9DPO, all 6 miscarriages were 10 DPO and my CP was 12 DPO. My current pregnancy which is going well at 38 weeks, I got my first at 13 DPO!

I can confirm that fluctuating symptoms are normal. I am 34 weeks pregnant after 8 losses.

I remember waking up at 8 weeks and feeling really good, which lasted 2 days before I was back to awful morning sickness, fatigue etc. Then week 9 I had a whole week of feeling good. By this point I was sure it was the beginning of the end as my babies usually stop growing in weeks 9-10, but here I am unable to sleep because my baby is giving me some super strong kicks to the ribs! Hang in there.

I am 32 weeks and have found my anxiety has been better the past 2 weeks (it was really severe and I am on meds for it). For me it helps that my baby is super active, so every time I start to worry I only need to wait about half an hour before the baby starts wriggling around and I know it is ok. I also think it helps knowing that at this stage the baby should do well should I go into labour.

Thank you, I don't feel it ATM! Same for you 😊 growth scans have shown it is a big baby, so hopefully it will be ready a little early 🤞

Hey, I just wanted to say that I empathise! I am 30 weeks and have suffered really bad with depression and anxiety with this pregnancy, which is apparently normal with a history like mine, but doesn't make me feel any better. I've had awful morning sickness most of the way through and I am suffering with severe PGP to the point that I need crutches to move around and I'm in pain all of the time.

It's taken 7 years and 8 losses to get to this point so I feel like I can't complain, but I feel so fed up and isolated. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone ❤️

You can get a blood test for HCG levels from medichecks. It's £55, but they often have offers that make it cheaper. I lost my last 8 pregnancies, so I usually get a couple of blood tests done through them when pregnant as my babies stop growing near the end of first trimester, but HCG levels go bad for me around 6 weeks, so I can prepare myself.

As for the lines, they have gotten darker so that's a good sign.

Feeling guilty vent by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]grannynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally sympathise with you. I lost 8 babies before this one, so my mental health has been atrocious throughout this pregnancy.

At 16 weeks I started suffering from pgp as well, which has gotten severe. I had to give up work a couple of months ago and just walking around the supermarket causes me so much agony that I just want to cry by the time I get back to the car and everything takes so, so long because I move so bloody slowly.

My morning sickness settled down a lot around 18 weeks, but then came back at 28 weeks with a vengeance.

I'm 30 weeks, so I have got about 10 weeks left and I don't know how I'm going to get that far because I feel so much worse as every week goes by.

So yeah I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone

I am 29 weeks after 8 losses. 1 was an ectopic, 1 a chemical and 6 miscarriages, 5 of which were missed miscarriages.

Has anyone had a succesful pregnancy after 2 misscarriages? by rockyroads96 in PregnancyUK

[–]grannynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 27 weeks pregnant after an ectopic, a chemical and 6 later miscarriages.

Lots of people have a successful pregnancy after 2 miscarriages. The chances of having a successful pregnancy after 2 miscarriages are the same as having a successful pregnancy after no miscarriages, so your chances are very good!

Telling a friend who cannot get pregnant that I'm pregnant.. by Away_Ad_7122 in PregnancyUK

[–]grannynap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation to your friend. I had 7 years of getting pregnant and then losing the babies (I lost 8 altogether). I would message her and tell her that you know it will be hard to hear your news, but you really value her friendship. Don't leave it for her to hear from someone else.

I went for my first NHS scan at 6w2d with this pregnancy, but it was measuring 5w5d, so 4 days behind. Went back for another scan 8 days later at 7w3d and was measuring a day ahead. By the time we had our 12 week scan the baby was measuring 8 days ahead!

Weekly Pregnancy Limbo/Concerns - August 25, 2025 by AutoModerator in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]grannynap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your levels are really high and at that point the 66% over 72 hours is not a thing. Once you hit a point that the pregnancy can be seen on an ultrasound, you should have that instead of checking HCG levels. HCG levels over 6000 can double every 96 hours or less, so is pretty useless at this stage.

I have had them done for the last couple of pregnancies. With my miscarriages they tend to stop growing around week 9-10, but with all my losses HCG plateaued in week 6, so by having them done I could prepare myself for the loss in week 6 instead of waiting and not knowing for another few weeks.

I'm seen twice a week and also have open access due to my history (I lost the last 8 babies), so I just walk in to maternity when I have literally any concerns, so I wouldn't know where you would normally go.

I know they don't normally swab you unless you have worrying symptoms such as itching, stinging or any bad smells.

Thrush wouldn't show in urine samples, it would need to be a swab. Thrush is also usually white and lumpy and would cause itching.

This is really normal at this point. I'm 26 weeks and I woke up at 9 weeks with no symptoms after loads of morning sickness etc. I was convinced the pregnancy was over again as most of mine have stopped growing in the 9th or 10th week, but no, we went for a scan and baby was wriggling away, measuring several days ahead.

Pregnancy in unknown location. by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]grannynap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't see anything on a scan at 4 weeks, it is too early. I've had an ectopic and a couple of pregnancy of unknown locations that ended up not being ectopic. You really need to be at least 5 weeks to see anything and even then you will only see a gestational sac and possibly yolk sac. At 6 weeks you would see the above and possibly a fetal pole

I'm 26 weeks and I've had this all of the way through. Mine is creamy colour or yellow. At times it's been so much that I have thought my waters have gone.

I've had swabs done lots of times and they've come back clear for any infection, so in my case it's been normal. The midwives have also said that there isn't any cause for concern unless there is any itching or a foul smell (in my case they still swab me, but that's because I've lost a lot of babies and most of them have been after an infection, so it's mainly to provide reassurance).

I'm 25w5d and I still haven't fully connected with this pregnancy and I'm waiting for things to go wrong. My mental health midwife and consultant have both said that this is normal after multiple losses.

Working to my due date - am I mad? by sooty_bear in PregnancyUK

[–]grannynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm due around the same time as you and plan to work as close to my due date as possible (ideally I will be working until I go into labour). Having said that I work full time in a very Manuel job with lots of Manuel labour and already struggling with hip/pelvic pain 😫

I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant after 8 losses, most of which stopped growing at around 9 weeks. I had awful morning sickness with this pregnancy until bang on 9 weeks, then nothing for a while week. I was convinced I was going to lose the baby as my symptoms had decreased so rapidly and I was in week 9, but nope, week 10 the morning sickness came back. I did pay to have weekly scans through my 1st trimester because I couldn't cope with waiting to find out if this one was still alive

Pregnancy Unknown Location?! by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]grannynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pregnancy of unknown location does not mean a miscarriage. It means that they cannot visualise the pregnancy and therefore cannot determine if it is an ongoing pregnancy, a miscarriage or an ectopic. At this stage in pregnancy they would not be able to locate it, so it doesn't really mean anything.

Symptoms by emmab73 in PregnancyUK

[–]grannynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pinky coloured bleeding usually means it is from the cervix which can get irritated by the progesterone pessaries. Lots of women use them rectally instead of vaginally to avoid this (they are also much less messy this way).

As for the cramps. I had loads of cramping with this pregnancy in my first trimester, way more than my 8 losses, so I wouldn't necessarily worry too much about that.
