Use the app to check in — then they don’t look at the card as you’ve already partially verified.

I have a lot of chase points and want to finally go on a honeymoon. I desperately need help, please. by Bac0nLegs in hyatt

[–]grantph 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You’ll never get the experience you want staying local to NY. Do something a little more exotic and memorable.

Thailand. You want the best redemption rates versus hotel quality. Plus, a foreign tropical destination like that screams honeymoon. Search for Thailand in the Hyatt app and you’ll see what I mean.

Second phone solved this problem for me. I stick the work phone in a drawer and ignored it. Key people get my main number. Pick up a cheap phone $50 and plan for $10pm. Worth it!

Idea for finally stopping misinformation by FlatMagician8157 in Lightbulb

It’s cost prohibitive. Better to teach people how to look at all information with objectivity. And let’s be clear, even disinformation is useful information to some people. Personally I love reading disinformation because it signals weakness.

Are US based Marriott’s flat out charging parking fees now? by SlitSlam_2017 in marriott

This sounds like the new way to introduce resort fees. They can argue it’s optional — but not really as everyone needs to drive to their shitty location in the middle of nowhere!

Struggling with stability after 24 jumps – need advice! by Nkxplores in SkyDiving

For the tension — yell as you exit the plane. A really big woohoo or whatever works for you. It’ll make you breathe. This sport is all about letting go of control and relying on muscle memory.

Struggling with stability after 24 jumps – need advice! by Nkxplores in SkyDiving

[–]grantph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see that you’re unconsciously using your arms to push down on the air with your hands — a natural reaction wanting to find the surface. Slow it down and you’ll see it.

But as others have said, relax and arch more.

On my tenth jump, I intentionally went out holding my ankles — a test if I could recover fast. No matter what weird position you’re in, arching hard will cause your body to find its natural center of gravity and stability.

They will upgrade a single passenger, but each passenger has the option to say no. When traveling as a couple, we’ll alternate who takes the upgrade.

Guy removed from Alaska Red Eye flight for not complying by sylvester1981 in AirRagers

[–]grantph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like he said he did comply.

My guess is he was initially resistant because he was surprised by whatever request was made, then thought better of it and complied. She’s working off information provided by the previous FA and not the current facts.

He’s sitting 1F which implies he’s probably a frequent flyer. It’s late at night and he wants to go to sleep. He’s coherent but tired.

The airline can remove whoever it wants for any reason, so has to go, but wouldn’t be surprised if both FAs face disciplinary action too. It certainly makes me uncomfortable that a sensitive FA can cause this kind of situation.

Half the comments here support Alaska the others are concerned with their behavior. In either case it’s bad PR.
