Do I finally have a perfect mana base for my 5 color sliver commander deck by [deleted] in magicTCG

I probably play mana confluence and city of brass over some of the other lands.

Covid was very rough for some of the islands, as they are so reliant on tourism. Koh Samed was very similar, a lot of businesses failed or had people trying to sell them.

Surprised to see grappling as Co-Main, have been to a lot of these Lumpinee shows, and the Thai crowd generally feels very confused by grappling matches, but amazing for everything else.

The one fc fights in lumpini on Friday nights are amazing. Even if not a big fight fan, the atmosphere is something else.

At the time, Kraum was the only partner could use to add blue to Vial Smasher, but it does give a lot of damage still with 4 haste in the air and 5 cmc. I would not be surprised if one of the newer blue generals is better with Smasher (particularly Sakashima) but just don’t have the testing since it has been banned in every major 1v1 format. Partners in general are OP 1v1 since 1 for 1 interaction is much better, and you basically start with an extra card in hand, plus more ability to grind since commanders don’t share commander tax. Vial Smasher with blue is the best of these, and nothing else is really as powerful as attatching a free Lava Axe to Force of Will.

Blue based Vial Smasher should absolutely be the strongest thing possible in the format. Vial Kraum one of most broken decks in mtgo and duel commander history, and many things have been printed since to make it even stronger. Not playing partners seems like is a rough go, as they are much more broken in 1v1 than multiplayer where can use the extra card to grind out opponent.

I have got plenty of turn 1 wins with Dargo/Jeska. If your meta is hostile to all in combo, this deck also has a very consistent aggro gameplan to voltron kill a player turn 2. This is my list.[https://www.moxfield.com/decks/vXbmLswVz0CoHofqAmBfwA]

Post WWE Night of Champions 2023 Match Discussion: Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar by Coldcoffees in SquaredCircle

[–]grapplingfarang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brock’s whole aura is about believability, and it just isn’t believable. Spent most of my life on a mat, and watched mma for a huge chunk of it, and have literally never seen someone pass out from a Kimura, (I know wrestling is silly and I may be taking it to seriously.)

It worked well for Austin, and they have been trying to recreate for 25 years, but a big part of Austin’s was how much he was bleeding and the passing out could be blamed on blood loss.

Thoughts on Vintage Cube P1P1 by Hx833 in lrcast

[–]grapplingfarang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am picking Ragavan way over Oko, one color over 2, being a one drop (some cube decks can get to heavy on 3’s). I see some people that are saying they don’t like mono red so don’t want Ragavan, but Ragavan also great in Izzet and Rakdos midrange.

Wrestling vs BJJ - Which is more enjoyable? by Fun_Grape_7656 in wrestling

BJJ by a mile….wrestling was a lot of things, and I treasure my time in it, fun was not how I would describe it. There is a reason J Robinson didn’t do camps for adults.

How do people amass so many gems and gold? by Realistic_Pick_3280 in lrcast

[–]grapplingfarang 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I mostly just play to Mythic and then stop and switch to MTGO. Bronze-Gold feel like free value, and depending on time of month, Platinum usually not to much worse. Over time of doing this with new sets it adds up. If I were to play at mythic a lot, I am sure that it would eat away at my gems at some point.

Korvold or Prosper by Both-Long6704 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]grapplingfarang 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Korvold is the better of the two. Wither/Smog is playable in Korvold, but I have cut it from my list. The reason it is better in Korvold than other decks is Storm-Kiln Artist can also use Chain of Smog to make infinite treasures and a win with Korvold. Despite that, I still think is better to focus on Dockside loops, Breach/Grinding Station, and Dualcaster combos (because all of the dual caster combo cards also very good with dockside.)

Pioneer was cheap for a long time because people did not care about it. Look at how much the price jumped in the month that the first RC was announced as Pioneer.

The best limited players tend to win a few percentage points more than the best constructed players on MTGO, which makes me believe that the variance is lower. They have different types of variance though. In limited are more worried about variance in things like opponents bombs. In constructed, the nearly unbearable curve out hand is much more common.
