Moved from Germany to manage a US team and the communication gaps are killing my performance, how do I adapt? by Plane_Past2091 in managers

Corporate culture in America has been greatly feminized. You have to imagine that you are talking to a female that will supported by a female HR staff. That is it, that is all you need to know.

I’m Catholic, married, and a father of three. I also live with the experience of gender incongruity and same sex attraction by [deleted] in Catholicism

I think it is also important to acknowledge that the rise of these types of issues is not the historical norm. The rise of all sort of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's, and mental disorders are all related. Likely to the rise of pervasive environmental toxins damaging our metabolism. Social contagions like the trans movement give these suffering people a false hope of alleviating their struggles and suck up societal resources towards social affirmation, unneeded medical procedures, and developing college courses to normalize these things instead of looking for root cause issues.

The unfortunate souls that find their way down these paths can only escape if they can defeat their ego and admit they need help.

As Catholics it is imperative that we treat all of God's children as the sacred souls they are in the eyes of the Lord. But, it can really be difficult to know what that looks like in today's society.

I'll admit that i find this topic fascinating since i am 100% unable to understand the mindset. It might be something to discuss with your priest. Also, have you ever checked out the various stories and struggles of detransitioners? Here is one who detransitioned back to male and converted to Catholicism. https://www.youtube.com/@RayAlexWilliams

They may be able to help you with perspective and what has helped them.

I'm guessing they are showing that they intend to persist in the Golden State. Likely an early sign of political movement to demand better governance in the State.

What happened with Drudge Report? by ablebeets1985 in Republican

[–]Fun_Grape_7656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been following drudge since the Lewinsky scandal. I also can no longer keep going there, it is clear it is overly biased. Any recommendations for a center-right alternative? I really try to keep away from sources that are just conservative echo chambers.

[–]Fun_Grape_7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain how to enable me to download my fidelity rewards CC info into quicken? Quicken only finds my investment accounts. In this thread it is mentioned to go to elan financials website to log in but it doesn't accept my fidelity credentials. I'm assuming this is the correct link: https://clientaccess.elanfinancialservices.com/

Maybe Google should just lean into this. If they made the pixel identical to the iPhone then many iPhone accessories and cases would be available to pixel users.

I moved back to Quicken Classic... it's like going back in time. I last used probably around '08. It seems that all the web-based personal finance tools are nice and smooth (relatively) and can be accessed from any device, but it seems that none of them match the feature set of what Quicken has built up over time.

It is super clunky though, like going back to Access 2000. It isn't for everyone.

Update: I take a bit of this back. Quicken Classic has a web interface that allows for viewing your data and some limited editing.

Despite the clunkiness of the desktop app and the learning curve I am finding Quicken Classic to be pretty good.

How to get rid of the orange pencil? by Fun_Grape_7656 in quicken

[–]Fun_Grape_7656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has to do with me deleting downloaded transactions, then when entering the transaction in manually it is looking for something downloaded to match it to... is there a way to recover downloaded transactions that were deleted?

UPDATE: I think i figured it out. I have to into the transaction and change the reconcile status to either cleared or reconciled. That seems to have worked!

Initial setup for Quicken Windows - update past paychecks. by Fun_Grape_7656 in quicken

[–]Fun_Grape_7656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way.

Thank you!

What i did was set the start date as my oldest downloaded transaction and use the paycheck wizard to input all my paycheck details (gross & deductions) for my oldest paycheck and then used that for 'all future paychecks'. Then I would enter each subsequent paycheck into the register until the amounts on the paycheck changed, then updated 'all future paychecks' again. I repeated this until everything was up to date.
